Possibility to change mutator without closing server

Post by TradeMark »

Yes, i want that now.

Would be cool to change mod just for different type of maps, like small maps, or large maps.

So mod makers could make different mutators just for different maps.

WHY?? It is impossible to balance the mod for all types of maps.

I wouldnt like it fi the balance of the mod changed to sutie the map and tbh no modder would bother balancing for every single map, nor would they be arsed going through all the maps and adding identifying tags such as "Hilly" etc, then there's standardisation, and how different types of mods require different types of standards, and how whats hilly for one mod may be flat for another.

And even if you overcome all those problems, its not user friendly and it will deter players from using specific mods or maps.

I'd like being able to change mods without closing the battle, though.

Not every single map, only few mutators.

And those mutators could be made automatically with some program.

Gundam will never work on brazillian battlefeild, speed metal or several other maps that should have been deleted upon their creation. IF I could make a mutator for those maps I would make one that crashed spring.

When you Com is 40x40 footprint and armed to the teeth then playing on that map doesn't go well since the coms are like:

"Oh hello enemy com, shall we pwn each other from game start?"

"Sure, why not..."

And then kaboom... its not fun trust me...

Use Tiny Comm then, that huge commander gets in the way when you're trying to select or order stuff.
