Enforcing UnitBehaviour by Type Map ?

Post by PicassoCT »

Hi,
wouldn`t it be cool to force unit into using Protection through the TypeMap?
We could just draw a 1,1 x Movespeed behind everyWall, so that Units would walk this Way...

I don't quite understand what you mean..are you talking about setting custom paths for maps using typemaps?

Units use, as long as it leads into there direction the Area on the TypeMap wich gives them Highspeed. That way you can even force them to make bows, were there is a strait way to the Target.
My Idea was to make FasterZones on the TypeMap around Hills. That Way Units that are orderd to the other side on the hill won`t march over it, but on the TypeMapZone around it, having Protection from Artillery. They Still would walk on the Hill if ordered.

Imagine a City were the Units use the Pavement and not the Middle of the Street.. .. this is possible by using the Typemap..

There is some map with roads that have a speed bonus. Its more of a metalmap kind of map (the layout, not the metal) but it is fun to watch the tanks really drive on the road instead of roaming wildly across the map.

Yep, and now making the Roads around hills - you have Units who really Avoid getting into Artilleryfire, running from Hill to Hill ...
