There's literally hundreds of tutes doing different things if you're willing to hunt through the gimp wiki. Once you learn the basics of gimp you can even use most PS tutorials because many of the tools are very similar.

943 triangles.

This is my WIP rework of the spider walker Sheekel found. I'm going to use it to talk about how to uvmap your models efficiently. Many people seem to have found the tutorial I did for Lancer's Reactor to be a little hard to follow- and there are a lot've differences in terms of approach for Spring S3O that I should cover.
Oh and Argh

That Sure as hell ain't a spider ^^

1 your legs are loose the fitness pose half low
2 the shield on leg is same size than leg past the legs are in now they fusioning
in firstly you look a mecanical spider in second a mecanical robot
but you work fine for tecnic

EhhGAds! It just hit me like a ton of bricks when looking at that, the angles for the camera are like 20 degrees too low on your model, o.0

to clarify - does the UVmapping process automatically keep all of the poly coordinates correct on the newly resized image?

edit: also, can i do the remirror maneuver in Wings or should i just add in the mirrored parts in Upspring?

Oh, everyone who legitimately wants help doesn't deserve it now because a few members who never asked for help don't want to listen to you. This is extremely immature. Imagine where you would be today if you teachers stormed off and refused to teach you because of that lazy kid in class who now digs ditches for a living.

it's almost as if a class system has been introduced without anyone except the upper class (long time modders/mappers) knowing about it :|

This is the most dissapointing development since I've started learning the process of unit making. With Smoth gone and now Argh withdrawing some of the most usefull information and even worse, possibly himself, I don't see where people will be able learn the things needed to help contribute content.

I don't understand the communities need to chase out the people who have the knowledge and skills to help develop the creative side of spring's community. If this trend continues it will strangle out any newcomers from learning the things to create content for spring. This is very sad. I don't know if I'll be able to continue my research with the lack of resources for development. After 2 months of work I may have to quit because people can't be civil to one another?!

I have high hopes for spring but if the community is going to continue down such a self destructive path it's going to hinder the process.

I'm not trying to flame anyone I'm just really frustrated with the state of things. Just needed to say this.
