I think that the ability to have the ability to have conventional aircraft in spring would be very helpful. Realism mods would greatly benefit with aircraft that takeoff a runway rather then taking off by vtol.
I would imagine that the runway would have to have certain points to tell the unit what to do.

Disregard the periods. There there to make it display properly.
This would be a rough idea of how conventional aircraft would work. When the airplane reached point A it would line up with point B and begin its decent. Upon reaching B it will be on the runway and would roll to point C. When it reaches point C it would then be stored at hanger 1 and so on. You would still be able to select the units and order them to take off.
When they are ordered to take off, the aircraft would appear at point B and accelerate to point C. When it reaches point C it would ascend to point D. Upon reaching point D it would become a regular air unit. The points could be empty parts that are placed in UpSpring.
The aircraft unit would probably need a tag such as IsConventional=1 or perhaps a tag that reads IsVTOL=0 or 1 where 0 is a conventional plane and 1 would be a VTOL plane.
Conventional aircraft would allow moders to choose the types of aircraft they would want. If you were doing a world war 2 mod, the planes would look more realistic taking off a runway, rather then ascending vertically.

Nitrous from TA:1945 tried to do this with very little succes, it looked horrible really.
as far as I know it never worked...
TA:WD really needs this as well, it looks silly to have A-10's take off vertically, i'd much rather have a C&C Generals-ish take off/landing system where units need to reload their ammuniton once it is disposed of.
Airfields would also repair like in C&C.
the SY's have had this in the early spring version but dropped it in favor for support for TA content, it shouldn't be a big deal to reinclude it into Spring i'd think but it's not on their priority list...to my great frustration.

Should be a trivial change to make a plane take off diagonally instead of vertically (just let it accellerate forward immediately instead of having it wait until it reaches cruise altitude) along with a tag that makes it do that. The airfield return would be more difficult but I think fuel was going to be implemented soon, right?
