What i'm trying to do is make some less intrusive version of the radar that can be left on "all the time" but still provides an easy to identify view of what's going on, as you can see it's still a WIP, very WIP.
Anyways, i'm posting this here because I need feedback. In this build that i've created it labels radars with a line showing their edges, and with slight shading inside. The problem is the shading is a bit too slight, look into my screenshot and try to judge what side of the green line the radar is on, it doesnt come to you immediatly. What I think could be done would be to make the line darker on the inside side, but I would like to see if anyone else has any other, possibly better ideas before I do this. As you can see from the creenshot the lines get quite cluttered and making them thicker to do this could make problems worse.
The other thing I did was increase the update rate of the LOS view (and consiquentialy the other info-views) The game doesnt seem to run much worse at all, but if I may have messed somthing up by doing this could someone who knows what they are doing chime in and tell me so that I can set things back to how they were before. At any rate I would like to modify what I have done to only include the views that can benefit from it in order to remove any uneccesary load.
I've changed the update rate from once every 58 frames to once every 18 frames. On my computer spring has always run at around 50fps, so whereas with the old system i'd get a 1fps update on the LOS view I now get a 5 fps update.
Anyways, cheers and thanks for any suggestions/comments/help/etc...
