AI Request

Post by Dragon45 »

I have no idea how this owuld be implemented, but:

Oftentimes i have found myself in desperate situations where i urgently need DGun, or weapons energy, but do not have it. Especially with a larger base, it becomes extremely timeconsuming (and usually, even loses the game) to go around to every building/type, ctrl-z, and select "stop", "off", cancel every factory's queue, and stop all current construction tasks.

Additionally tedious, of course, is reenabling all those things. I am asking for an AI that does the following:

1) Turns "off" everything so that minimal energy drain occurs
2) Stop factories from building
3) Remember the states of *everything* and then reenable it after the command is issued. meaning remember what build order was selected for every factory and builder, every solar/maker's state, etc.

This has huge tactical potential. Huge Huge Huge Huge.

So yeah, thanks :)

Well, the problem is that a group AI couldn't currently do it unless you assigned it to everything.

Seems more like a "panic button" for the mythical new GUI.

It's not the same but now you can just press ctrl-a and s. Doesn't stop buildings building stuff but will stop builder units.

I hit it many times in a round anyway because of the fscking annoying sound of some bot eventually wonking constantly somewhere in the map. Maybe it's a fark or maybe it's some other bot I said to move somewhere but it's fixed if I stop all units.

and I want planes to be able to land at 70 or 80% hp, cause planes are made outta paper.. not that that has anything to do with energy consumption.

You can do this now, I think.

how about reserving the next 300 energy to go straight to the dgun after d is pressed, automatically taking precedence over other uses.

That's usually not enough though; sometimes i just need all energy to go to dgun; not just enoguh for one desperation shot - i need as many desperation shots as i can get off without dying!

All this can be avoided with good resource management.

Build storage and overanticipate energy needs. It'll come in handy for expansion or if energy production is damaged too.

Naturally what I mean is in a list ditch situation; like if your comm is caught for some reason.even i ngames where you are winning, this can happen...
