Re: lobby server disconnects / high load at springrts.com se
Can't you do a SMART test from the BIOS?
Assuming the server is remote, can you access the OOB, enter the BIOS or RAID BIOS and check whats happening on a hardware level?
In either case, if you think your server is going tits-up one of these days: backup everything

Re: Planetary Annihilation (Incoming Moon Drops!)
There isn't much that can counter the game-ending weapons of PA. You have the annihilaser, but building the tools required to destroy them costs more resources than the large contraptions being made. Lets not start about Bomber Sniping. Just build enough bombers and no amount of AA will help your AC...

Re: Planetary Annihilation (Incoming Moon Drops!)
For me this is one of the nails in the shared coffin of kickstarters and early access, but this is a discussion for another thread/topic. ( I will make an exception for Killing Floor 2. I cannot wait! But that is about it.. )

https://i.imgflip.com/d23wd.jpg Not really my nature but I couldn't resist after they actually advertised to get money for a new project with phrases like this. Imho "We made a playable RTS game with a cute gimmick that some liked and some hated" would be honest. I believe this is the gen...

Re: Clicking the MEX crashes SpringRTSv96.0/BAv8
Oddly enough, running the portable version of the latest dev-build worked like a charm for me. I haven't tried only matches yet.

Re: Clicking the MEX crashes SpringRTSv96.0/BAv8
Setting CPU affinity to a single core also results in a crash when I click on the mex.

Clicking the MEX crashes SpringRTSv96.0/BAv8
With the disappointment called PA I've started looking elsewhere to get my TA kicks and decided to return to SpringRTS after an absence spanning around ~6 years. It initially crashed when I tried to enter a singleplayer game with a bot for no apparent reason. Start the lobby (thus the game) as local...

Re: Setup a mirror for spring.jobjol.nl
I have a spare machine which I'll set up as a mirror. You don't have to worry about the diskspace (atm ~67G free) and bandwidth (~1.2TB/m @ 100Mbit). Its on me. Due to the space-budget of the datacenter (12u of rackspace fill up pretty quick) and the time-budget I need to write my paper, it will be ...
