Argh

Whenever I try to save any model to Upspring it says "Unknown Extension" "File could not be saved"


How can I get.. the right extension? I was saving it as .S30

Problem with .7z/.sd7

I messed around with scripts a bit.. using 7-Zip to unpackage them and edit things, but when I rezip them to .7z then rename them to .sd7 the mod won't appear in the lobby. I think I'm doing it wrong. Halp? :\ I searched through the wiki to no end but I can't find a solution.

99% darkness? Areas with no team color should be at 0, total black in the alpha channel. I know Gimp sucks too much to handle that so you need an extra prog called DxtBmp to combine the alpha and color afterwards. Photoshop doesn't provided you use the right exporters so you can just paint the alph...

I have it almost done..


One thing I'm stuck on with the texture though.. It shows up black in the editor. I don't use photoshop, I use gimp and I heard you have to set the darkness or something to 99%? How would I do that? Thanks again :<

You are supposed to make it external, which saves it outside of your wings file, by going to Window -> Outliner and selecting your pieces and clicking on Make External. This will save it as an image file, and you should color this image file, cuz each piece is a face, and each face needs a texture....

I can get it so it unfolds and all the pieces are there.. but what do I do with it? There's no way to save it and such.. do I just take a screenshot and put it into photoshop or something? :\

Remember to research it, UV mapping is a lot easier than it sounds, animating is technically non existant for towers, putting it in is gunna be a pain... Remember to use the wiki and study other peoples mods and examples. Towers would need to rotate the turret to what they're firing at, is that not...

You need to break it into parts one solid object cannot move spring/ta works on an object based system. don't use inset and extrude like that. it is a beginner's mistake. the neck of the turret probably should not be a hour glass shape. It's in two objects, the base and the turret so it can rotate ...
