Re: SpringSP unable to load maps?

The best way to install SpringSP is to put the zip file in the spring directory and extract it there. All the folders should end up in the right place.

If you don't want to do that, you will need to find the SSP folder and put it in the lobby folder i.e. spring\lobby\SSP

A quick update: Regarding the unitsync problems, I was able to get get 0.9.1beta1 with svn4610 to crash by installing more mods but latter both 0.9 and 0.9.1beta1 worked with spring svn4772 (apart from the broken replays). That makes it seem like unitsync was to blame but I will double check my code...

Hi megaman, unknown-files have moved all their files around again breaking all the links. Here's the new link: http://www.unknown-files.net/spring/320 ... ncher_v09/

The status of SpringSP is that I'm only fixing bugs and not adding any new features.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the report Erom. Is it just the text in the input boxes and lists or on buttons as well?. (screen shot might be nice) Go right ahead AF, bundle away. still crashed for me, unitsync.log: ...snip... I'm not sure if it's springsp or unitsync though. :( more debugging... (that log should help...

Thanks for the bug report Smiff I've replied in the other thread. Imbaczek I've uploaded a new ssp exe(link below) that should stop the crashes(tested with svn4578 and 0.75b2) but note that ssp doesn't recognize/load the replays made by svn4578. I'll try fix the replay issue whenever I get time. htt...

Are you using version 0.9?

If you are, could you post the contents of your script.txt after the bug occurs(if you can still get it to happen)?
That would help me reproduce and fix the bug.

@TradeMark: Thanks for the tip. First post fixed.

@imbaczek: I'll take a look if you can point me to a compiled svn build.

Thanks for the comments. @vital Yes the standard theme has been around for several versions. Like I said in the first post this was my last feature release, so I won't be changing things like the minimap ratio or adding a color picker etc. However, I don't mind if you guys code all that stuff and ad...

At the moment springsp.exe will always make the player name "Player".
I will have a look at adding an option to set the name.

In case people haven't noticed there is now a link on the downloads page to springsp on UF. I've noticed a jump in the number of downloads on UF so the new link is definitely helping :-) . The link appeared before I even enquired about putting a link there, so thank you to whoever did it. Now to kee...

That sounds good. What other useful downloads did you have in mind and to what person should such a request be made?

Would you mind posting the contents of script.txt right after starting a game where the coms explode? That would show us more info such as how the teams were setup. The script.txt file is in the same directory as spring.exe

I think the way SpringSP is distributed at the moment is OK. It's not too hard to find for those looking for a way to play offline. Like I said before I don't mind if the devs want to distribute it with Spring but I have no intention of trying to do so. If the devs think that it would benifit Spring...

Everytime after loading the mods it gave me an error : "An error occured while saving Mod cache. 76 path not found". Make sure that the cache directory exists. If you extracted the zip file in to the directory where you installed Spring then it should have been created for you. Have a loo...

LordMatt wrote:So....Why isn't this in the SVN and distributed with Spring?
It isn't in the SVN because it is my own project and it isn't open source(although I have recived some coding conributions and I do make the source code available). I don't mind if it is packaged with Spring but that isn't up to me.

Argh wrote:Does it detect maps in .SDD files? Mods in .SDD files?
Yes SpringSP does detect .SDD maps and mods. .SDD mods were working in version 0.7 maybe maps too but I didn't test .SDD maps.

Sorry for not keeping you all informed of SpringSP progress. Version 0.8 is being worked on and is close to release(a week or so). It will have the minimap preview, Mod info caching for faster loading, a new theme/skin and a few other small things. I wanted to to show map info(eg windspeed, tidal st...
