Re: Dead or alive
Strategies didn't become any more or less viable and the game hasn't changed, the old vehicle starts that may have worked consistantly in the past were never as water-tight as they may have seemed. On medium sized maps it is more effective to transition from bot to vehicle at t1. T1 kbot and vehicl...

Re: Dead or alive
I've played a lot of games now (not very well though). But I've gotta say the game's worse than it once was. I blame it mostly on that veh pathing was made to suck... Which was one of the reasons I stopped playing originally. I don't know if there's been minor tweaks since I stopped or not, not much...

I found some of my half-finished Spring maps from an external HDD. This one was totally functional just short of compiling, so I did just that. Everything's pretty much as I left it 5 years ago, I doubt I have the .tmd I created this with anymore. I'll probably be releasing more of this old shit in ...

Dead or alive
Anybody any good still playing this game? I decided to check what's going on here. I see one non-pw'd game in the lobby, it's Senna vs rzbx vs some unknown FFA on Greenfields! These guys haven't improved a notch in the 3? 4? years since I last saw them, it's kinda endearing. Is DSD still popularest?...

Re: Pathing
I wouldn't put too much value on these movement videos since it's not really a scenario that happens ingame. Not saying it'll be bad without trying of course, but... The old pathfinder was ok yet on this one thing it fails as shown on the vids. Hopefully it'll be surpassing that now, when will 92 be...

Re: Change gradient for f2 view.
I don't know if it's the case for smoth, but red-green color blindness is common enough. So making the impassable areas blue for example, would make it clear for everyone better than just a different red shade.

Re: New BAV(BA Version)
It reduces options in a single game while not really making the games overall learning curve smoother, not a fan of the idea.

Yeah both are round islands but they're totally different in the way they play.==Troy== wrote:Wasnt there a map identical to this already? iirc TM made it, and it was basically started from DSD.

Re: A welcome to new players?
Good starting point would be to just make upping !teamsize require a vote.
And yes, waiting times and trolls are not the only reasons to dislike big team games, but they are the things that could be fixed, to an extent at least, by having a good host.

Re: A welcome to new players?
The "technical" solution to forcibly limit # of commanders is much worse than to moderate BA autohosts a bit. Because as was said, moderating autohosts still leaves people the freedom to host what they want if they host it themselves, or with relayhost. But then you'd always have someone a...

Re: A welcome to new players?
Isn't half the appeal of DSD games to bitch and moan and grief your allies? If you don't enjoy that, maybe just pick another type of game. 1st. Who told you DSD is about this? Nobody had to tell me, I figured it out all by my own! Key is to not play games with too varied skill levels between player...

Isn't half the appeal of DSD games to bitch and moan and grief your allies? If you don't enjoy that, maybe just pick another type of game. Which is possible even in BA. And banning old players for "taking mexes" is just ridiculous beyond belief. Retaining old players should be as much a pr...
