My accidental/temporary fix makes things playable until you have some free time. Thanks again!

Re: BA Chicken Defense 2.38 for BA 7.68
There is an automagical resource processing file to use... Wow, I can't believe it, but I think I temporarily fixed this on my first try. I opened "ba768.sdz", went to "/gamedata/", copied "resources.tdf", opened "ba_chicken_defense_v2.38.sd7", and overwrote ...

Thanks for the reply, smoth. Is there anything I can do as a regular user to resolve this?smoth wrote:resource file conflict, odds are they are using the old resource stuff.

Re: BA Chicken Defense 2.38 for BA 7.68
I just tried this for the first time this morning and it's really fun, thanks! :-) I am having a strange issue thats pretty distracting, however. The smoke trails on rockets (like anti-aircraft) and explosions are both being rendered strangely in chicken only ( they display correctly in BA 7.68 ). T...

Re: What is wrong with RAI
I'm also curious on this one. Sometimes the AI builds tons of units, but it just stockpiles them instead of attacking (not RAI specific for me). It doesn't happen all the time and some maps are worse than others (sometimes even placement on the map, ex: which corner I place my base, etc). I've been ...

Re: spring-multithreaded
Thanks for the flowers, but Alba is totally correct in that MT is broken. It works for single player, but will crash/deadlock/desync in multiplayer, especially when there is anyone using mid-game join. Yeah, I was just trying to lighten things up a bit. Didn't want you all to be too hard on yoursel...

Re: spring-multithreaded
Isn't mt completely broken as of 85? +1 PS: I barely play spring anymore cause no more MT I'm not saying that you guys don't have totally valid issues, but I just want to note that 85.0 MT has been the least buggy and best running version of spring I've used so far on my setup... Four Core AMD Phen...

Re: spring-multithreaded
I don't have any specific measurements or graphs, but I can say that MT provides an inexplicably huge performance gain for me. I just wrapped up a two hour game against 3 RAI's and one E323AI (all allied) with well over 400 units per team (unit cap at 1000 for each team) and my framerate never dropp...

Re: Ubuntu Sound Troubles... (even after some wiki suggestions)
Going to jump back in here real quick to ask if it is possible to fix this directly in spring or "upstream" in some way... :?: This issue seems to affect a lot of people using linux on at least a couple of distros no matter how the engine is installed. I played another game after switching...

Re: Ubuntu Sound Troubles... (even after some wiki suggestions)
can you try to disable all effects in alsoft-conf? this maybe can help, too. I never tried this. This appears to totally solve the problem with the exact same setup that I was using for my OP! Map scrolling smooth too! Perhaps a bug in spring that causes these effects to make so much trouble? Teste...

Re: Ubuntu Sound Troubles... (even after some wiki suggestions)
you get this crackling with 5 ais? uhm... tried with fewer ais? i guess your cpu is to slow... Ummm...4 core AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor at 3.2 GHz? I hope this isn't too slow... :? And I would test with fewer ais, but I'm not even sure what those are or how to change that (sorry, noob here). :o...

Ubuntu Sound Troubles... (even after some wiki suggestions)
Running Ubuntu 11.10 64 bit, up to date and mostly default. It doesn't matter if I'm playing version 83.0 from the Ubuntu PPA or building the latest development straight from git, I still experience stuttering and crackling sound in spring. The crackling is most noticeable during battle scenes when ...
