I just tried this for the first time this morning and it's really fun, thanks!
I am having a strange issue thats pretty distracting, however. The smoke trails on rockets (like anti-aircraft) and explosions are both being rendered strangely in chicken only (they display correctly in BA 7.68). The rocket smoke is very dark, almost black, while you can see very opaque squares in explosions:

(All of this is in Spring 88.0, proprietary nvidia on Ubuntu 11.10, if thats helpful...)
If there is anything than can be done to solve this, I'd appreciate the help.

resource file conflict, odds are they are using the old resource stuff.

There is an automagical resource processing file to use but unfortunately for normal uses it may be a bit difficult to follow. Unfortunately I am working today and cannot really dig into the file for you. Behe or someone else should be able to resolve it though so no worries :)

Wow, I can't believe it, but I think I temporarily fixed this on my first try. I opened "ba768.sdz", went to "/gamedata/", copied "resources.tdf", opened "ba_chicken_defense_v2.38.sd7", and overwrote the same file in that archive. Started a game and most of the explosions and rockets look correct now!smoth wrote:There is an automagical resource processing file to use...

yeah the chicken effects are the ones that will suffer now as you have removed the resource.tdf.
