Bugs or other unbalances

The cold place has several details. The 3ffa play, is not balanced in the usual setup, which is 1 player top left, 1 player top right and the advantaged player in bottom. The third player, the one in the bottom, has more metal available, and a geo spot at each side, unchallenged for taking.

The player at the bottom is less harassed (if not focused expressly by a veteran who knows the map caveats), get more resources. The players at the top, have a much closer encounter, fighting for a single geo spot and less metal patches for every one.

Its no surprise the bottom player wins usually.

This unbalance, however, makes for a good 3ffa, when one of the players is not at pair with the other two, working like a sort of handicap for the less good of the three.

This is acceptable.

What is not acceptable, is the fact, if the map is divided vertically, the right side, has 2 more metal patches at middle. Giving around 5+ ,more metal to the player in that place compared to his opponent.

This more likely a bug than a natural/geographic unbalance.

Looking forward to a fixed release (not the remakes ones).

Desert Triad, seems very equally done. Ive not pondered exactly, the metal distribution, but from playing it, i know the right hand player has better chances. This is, because that spot has more space between his opponents, with 2 extensive zones (that have metal patches) between them. This, while top and bottom left, have a smaller gap between their hills, whit less metal in it, and end up engaged in a war easier because of the size of this gap. This information will be rechecked later.

Mirrored asymmetry (metal, geography...)

A map that could fall in this category (needs rechecking), is Small supreme battlefield, in this map, one of the the sea players, has advantage over the other.

More specifically, the top right player, has advantage over the bottom right sea player.

Why? Because the top right sea player, has more metal, (if not shared, which is usually not the case), quite some more metal, compared to the bottom right sea player.

This mirrored asymmetry, however, is "balanced", as its mirrored, because, the bottom left sea player, has the same advantage over the top left sea player.

Although, this seems to be ok, i think its a serious map unbalance, and shall be checked in real game.

Another known map with a big asymmetry in its metal spots is Drab. Same thing happens here (although its more noticeable, as the map is smaller, the results are more immediate).

The metal distribution is mirrored vertically, giving a good more of metal to the top left and bottom right start positions. This has not much influence in 1v1 games, but in 2v2 games, the guys that start with more metal, can steamroll their opponents much easily.
