I read about somthing like this in a supcom articul. They guy was taking critism at supcom and suggested if ther coudnt be like pre set patrole routes that could be numbered and randomly be filled with eny unit you want to fill it with.

So basicully i asking for a feature that gives a bottom in the left panel to set a patrole or three or more bottoms to set more patrolles end ones the patroles are set. By clicking on a unit and apply the botton again the unit will follow that patrole. This way old patrole routes could used more times.

Just give the patrol route to a unit, select the other units, use the appropriate LUA widget and click with CTRL+Guard on the unit doing the route.

Of course abstract guard routes would be nice but it's not that much of an issue.

Actually this is a good idea I think. Would own up suckcoms patrol system, wich is arguably the only thing it has on spring atm. Making some kind of abstracted battle plan/orders and then assign units to do the stuff... sounds really sweet.

I'd just generally think a kind of "add unit to group _and_ take group orders" would be the best, and merge this functionality in with unit groups.
