Wiki article?

They removed some parts to "make the article clearer".

In-fact, in the discussion page they were planning to remove the features section of the article that mentions teh featurez of spring because "it seems like an advertisement".

To put it simply : Wikipedia is lame.

;P.

When you advertise something, its not generally all about profit. What about people who put up posters to spread awareness of certain things. That is in a way advertising. Advertising Spring would just be spamming topics on other forums...

I'm sure that whoever blew the whistle on "advertising" thought that spring was some sort of product. Advertising in your sense of the word merely means raising awareness about something, and in that case all of wikipedia is one enormous advertisement isn't it?

Wikipedia is your gigantic encyclopedia constantly being updated by 15 year olds. It doesnt raise aware awareness of anything, unless you see Add banners saying ' WIKIPEDIA: TODAYS TOPIC '.

Edit: Still It wouldnt make sense. I mean you guys were just posting what the actual damn features were. Its not advertising its simply showing whats included in the game, we may aswell delete every software topic in wikipedia.

on the discussion page they want to change it to TaSpring again, because the website still refers to taspring (eg the sub domain & domain etc)

I think the trick would be to ditch that entry and start building entries for "each game built on the Spring platform" linking back to the Spring wiki page.

Agreed. The page does a good job stating that spring is a RTS engine and listing the features, but a clear area listing and linking to the games that run on the spring engine is a necessity.
