Well, what sort are you looking for? I made some experimental ones that have never been used before - if I get photoshop on this machine, I can make some more.

This is the sillies thing you have decided to do. Metal patches are a step back from using "natural metal distribution" !

Dont blame yourself that your maps wont get played, its the small-minded community who only plays altored, small supreme bf and speedmetall... :(

Comp! Nice! How did you make that?!?! have you got a layered file of that?

(Naturel metal distribution is cool... but not everyone likes it. So I'm goona do one in the other style. For a change)

I doodled around varing shades of grey with kinda low opacity and applyed filters. dont really remember tho i think i posterized it a bit..

And im sorry, no layered file :(
jus stamp the alpha'd one onto your map.

EDIT: Oh wait. Do you mean layered as in different layers in the patch, or do you mean patch on bg-layered?

Bump for mappers (this could even be sticky)!
And since UF renewal, the url above is at
http://spring.unknown-files.net/index.p ... &dlid=1579

It'd be useful if someone made a big flat square metal texture that people could then cut their metal patches from. I suck at texturing, so I'd appreciate if someone else did it. Thx.

Personally, I'd like to see maps using the "metal distribution" model, but actually make it visible. So far, the only maps I've seen do that were bad metal maps with zero-extraction-radius, so you had the choice between "unlimited metal" and "really extra unlimited metal".
