Forgotten Chronicles

Yeah, trying another story.. Somewhere on the mod's topic is the storyline, in other words, its humans, aliens, and robots in a free for all.

A: I do this at school, I get bored
B: This could give me better ideas on models and units.
C: Writing stories is pretty cool.
D: Some day my teacher may want another story, this can be it.

His hands were cold and shaky as his fingers grasped for the trigger. As he looked down, he noticed the warm blood trickling through his armor. He watched as the nanos were ay work healing his wound. "Another hit like that and those nanos won't be fast enough," thought the grim soldier. "Sure is cold."

"Lieutenant Wolfe!" screeched the communicator. With inhuman speed and agility, Wolfe unhinged the communicator. "Be quiet, idiot!" Wolfe whispered harshly. "They are right on top of me for God's sake!" "Sorry, sir. Need any help?" the communicator asked. "No," replied Wolfe. "I have enough ammo to last a few hours. Also, I am hiding behind one of those 125 cal turrets. Unfortunately, it doesn't work, yet."

Lieutenant Wolfe heard something rustling through the snow. It was probably a Spiker. Spikers were slug-like creatures that had a hard carapace riddled with spikes that could be launched at enemies. They weren't very deadly unless in groups. Generally it takes about 10 minutes to grow its spikes back.

Wolfe was checking his equipment, "3 'nades, 1 'bean bag', Thompson 2237, machine pistol, repair kit, a combat knife, and a satchel charge. I'll be fine, I also have that special mutation to lean back on, just in case." he thought to himself as the Spiker rounded the turret.

Seeing the spike that adorned the creatures head around the corner, his body urged "Strike!" While his mind replied "Wait." After the 4 inch long spike was fully in view, its pale colored head started started to appear. Its bright slanted eyes were rounding, the bark of the thompson now blowing gashes around them. The color of the eyes faded to black as the spiker was living through the last moments of its life. Its brownish colored blood was seeping, into the snow, changing its hue.

Wolfe started to inspect the turret for the reason it was jammed, feverishly. The aliens shared a collective intelligence. They would be swarming here in a few minutes. Digging through the generator, he found the problem. The conduction cord wasn't connected. "What a simple problem, we could have held this sector if it were repaired in time," thought Wolfe. He connected the cord and almost instantly heard the loud turbines and the turret's startup sounds.

The turret started grinding its gears and rotating its cannon in circles, searching and probing for a target. After fully warming it up, checking it, and setting it to optimal distance, Wolfe gathered the rations and began preparing to set out.

I am going to KILL ZOOMBIE!!! He is really getting me addicted to writing, from 9:30 to 11:00 last night, and I wrote a page per hour in school!

Ah hell, at least I like my story...

Bolting the door to keep creatures and aliens out, Wolfe made sure the turret was as fortified as possible. Hearing the alarms going off, Wolfe trotted to see the turret's target. "Time to watch some fireworks, hehehe," chuckled Wolfe as the turret aligned itself with the small group of Spikers. 125 Cal bullets are large enough to explode, but small enough to be fired 5 rounds a second. Wolfe covered his ears as the turret zeroed in. The turret laid fire into the group. Parts of spikers were being launched through the air as the explosive shells blew them apart. "Quite a show, quite a show," repeated Wolf.

"Apparently the turret functions correctly," thought Wolfe. "Sir, the tur-" "I know, I got it working," interrupted Wolfe. "Congratulations, Sir," the communicator scratched. "Thanks," replied Wolfe. "I'll be heading in your direction, how much has the front line changed?" "Twen-twenty five mi-miles." "WHAAAAT! NO WAY!!" yelled Wolfe. "This is almost impossible, even with, it."

"Sir, you can do it, try not to use it, though," rattled the communicator. "I may be forced to, I'll keep it to a minimum, if possible," replied Wolfe. "I got to go, don't call unless its an emergency, by the way, any help you can send, please do so."

Wolfe checked his maps, the Alien infestation spreading from the city of Carthon. The sector he was assigned to was overrun after 12 miles on the front, and Sgt. Zack's was 13 miles farther South. "Zacks a tough bastard, he should be able to hold till I get back, pity my squad died, I might need some help getting there," Wolfe thought.

(This isn't in the story: Son of a bitch, that was 2 of 6 pages I wrote, I must write fast or something....)

Lieutenant Wolfe started his journey, jogging through the thick snow. "Damn snow, even with all of these bionic implants I still can't build up any speed," Wolfe lamented while continuing to trot. Wolfe stopped for a second to check his compass. After a few seconds something sharp clamped on his leg, drawing a little bit of blood. Wolfe slowly pulled his thompson out and levelled it at the place where he though the creatures body would be. He pulled the trigger, and the thompson barked until he saw the snow gain a purplish hue.

Slowly lifting his leg from the snow, the creatures shape began to appear. It was about 2 feet long and had one of its claws around Wolfe's leg. It seemed to be some sort of snow scorpion. Wolfe tried for a few moments to unclamp the claw, but to no avail. He pulled his machine pistol out and shot the claw's joint, point blank. Tenderly and slowly removing the claws, Wolfe waited for the nanos to assist the healing process.

After a few seconds the ground started to vehemently shake, and Wolfe lost his balance.

(On page 6 now....)

As Wolfe was trying to regain his footing, an extremely large portion of the snow began to rise upwards. Eventually after 20 feet, the snow split into 8 segmented sections. "Holy shit! That is one hell of a large scorpion!" Wolfe gasped as he regained his footing. Looking at the small broken up scorpion Wolfe said "Maybe that was its child." He started sprinting as fast as he could. After the scorpion was at its full height, it shook all of the snow off.

In a few seconds, the 200 feet Wolfe had gained he had lost as the creature effortlessly caught up to him. Wolfe dodged as its claw slammed into the ground around him. Barely avoiding it, he jumped clearly over the claw at 8 feet. Still running, Wolfe dug through his sack for his bean bag. Finding it, he pulled the pin and hurled it into the beast's mouth.

After a few seconds, the bean bag exploded. What made this weapon so dangerous was the fact that the explosion scattered 'beans,' that when had contact with oxygen, super-heated themselves to be hotter than the sun. The beans seared their way through the scorpion's organs, flesh, and eventually exited through the carapace. With a high pitched squeal, it plunked down in the snow, knocking Wolfe off his feet, again.

(Page 7... My arm hurts...)

Wolfe began trotting, happy to be away from aliens for now. Checking his map every 10 minutes or so. He checked the map and found that he was 850 feet away from the Callitoma Fusion Reactor. "Blasted snow! I can't see a damned thing," Wolfe said, frustratingly. Wolfe checked thermal vision, the reactor was clearly visible, everything else was dark blue.

Upon reaching the reactor, he found carnage and destruction. The scientists had wounds of all descriptions and types. One here, nailed to the wall by spikes, another here, limbs munched off. Over here, one hacked up. "Poor bastards, didn't stand a chance. Wait, what's this?" Wolfe asked as he was stooping down. "This scientist had a weapon? Nice rifle, very low weight, wonder what it shoots?"

Wolfe heard a scratching sound, and on instinct, about faced and brought rifle up to his shoulder. It was a dark black Stalker, the carapace color signifying veterancy. Light brown was the color of an unblooded warrior. It was a long snake-like creature with a large head and spindly arms. Soldiers who underestimated them because of their appearance found themselves hacked to pieces.

(Page 8... My shoulder has been feeling dislocated since I got home...)

Wolfe pulled the trigger and instantly was blinded by a bright light. He dropped the rifle and fell to the ground, clutching his eyes. "It's over, I'm done for, It'll descend upon me in a second," ran through his mind for several seconds. Wolfe's eyes felt better, so he tried to get up. When he lifted his arm, pain like a flame surged through it. He opened his eyes.

To his surprise, his armor, clothes, and flesh were all singed. He remembered the Stalker, turning his head slowly and cautiously. What he found shocked him even more than his wounds. The Stalker's chest had been halfway melted off. Its arms laying on the ground, cauterized by the flash. The Stalker didn't have a head anymore.

Wolfe lay there, resting and thinking about the gun. Perhaps it was the source of light, perhaps, the scientists had finally developed lasers! "This technology must be brought amongst the rest of my race!" thought Wolfe, while the nanos were repairing his flesh. He was ready after 20 minutes. Wolfe walked about the reactor, and eventually decided to go to the core.

Opening the door, thompson at hand, expecting to find something around every corner. Wolfe found the central core, and something much more sinister. A whole swarm of Gene Splicers were huddling around the core. Weak and defenseless by themselves, they bioformed larger and stronger aliens to protect themselves.

(Woo, last page, 9)

"I can't just shoot them off, I could blow the core. Grenade would suffer the same fate. Grrr, damnit! I'll just blow them all to hell!" Wolfe said as he retrieved his Satchel charge. Wolfe sprinted over and hooked the charge on. "70 minutes, 10 to get out, and 60 to make a few miles," Wolfe pondered to himself.

Wolfe was exiting and tripped as he was passing the scientist who had the gun. Noticing he had some weird glasses, Wolfe took them. "I bet these'll help when I fire that gun again. I want to see another scorpion try to mess with me again. I got to get out of here."

After 59 minutes of jogging, Wolfe turned around to watch the explosion. A giant column of flame was launched upwards into the sky. Following shortly afterwards, a giant plume of purple colored smoke rose. "Hah, that's a suiting color, Alien blood," said Wolfe, smugly.

"Sir, what the hell was that!?" asked the communicator. "Core was clogged with aliens, blew 'em all to hell," replied Wolfe. "What about the shock- Wolfe was hit so hard he flew 5 feet. "Yeah, I noticed," said Wolfe, while rubbing his thighs.
