They do goto the correct location, so it's only a graphical error, but it is very confusing...

I'm not quite sure I agree. The units were distinctly ordered to form a line to the northeast of where they ended up. I have notcied this too, it seems to be that the orders are offset by a certain fixed value.

This reminds me of a possibly related bug... when I build nanotowers in AA i appears that I ordered them to move somewhere even when I haven't done any such thing. Canceling the move order by telling them to help build something doesn't get rid of the move order. However the nanotowers still nanolithe, so it doesn't actually mess something up

I think thats the nanoturrets trying to get out of the way of something, but they can't

PS: Firefox 2 surprised me by telling me that 'Nanoturrets' is spelled wrong. Long live Browser spell check!

Never seen this.. and I use shift to check commands quite often. Could it be mod-related? Because you seem to have it with AA, while I play XTA only...

BTW, how did you modify your control panel on the left, NOiZE ?

By the looks of it, I think the orders have snapped to the water plain, so they appear at a different spot than they are supposed to. If you look stralight down on the orders, they are in the correct position

That is an issue with AA, not with the engine. The thing is that the nanotowers are, actually, mobile units with 0 speed, meaning they will behave like if they can move but really can't.

I have little idea why they were made like that, really. Maybe because of when Spring allowed you to find the enemy buildings with building-placement. Units like the nano towers would not be found like that.

No, the nanotowers thing is a holdover from OTA. Nanotowers in TA HAD to be units to allow them to build assist.

I don't think this is bugged. This makes sure the units end up orientated. Just imagine what happens when your units aren't all clustered together but spread out.

It's very visible on SD - when you try to line up a squad near the top of one of the hills.

Ummm noize is 100% correct btw, ever since the latest version, giving line formation commands always results in the location markers being wildly out of place depending on the camera view for me. I was going to make a thread about this until i realised it's only the graphical markers that are wrong, the actual units go where you ordered them.

I always play with rotatable overhead camera, i can make a video to show this if need be.

I don't think a detailed explanation is really needed :P

It does it to xta too. (It's an engine issue)
