Banned question!

Post by 360kilmat »

yea... I got banned and I know I should have but i got banned for retaliating better than the person did in the first place. I got banned for flooding because the person flooded me ingame and messed up my computer so i flooded him back, but a lot faster and after like 3 seconds i got banned and i was just wondering if this was a permanent ban or temporary ban

lol
Its an autoban by the server, flood protection.

Be smart enough to apologise and ensure the admin that you speak with that it won't ever happen again, and mean it, and you'll probably be unbanned.

A lesson learned the hard way, but as long as you learn, its not so bad.

Spring server automatically bans anyone who sends too much data to it too fast, please be aware of this and don't repeat your flooding in the future. You are unbanned now.

i think since he obviously didn't read the damn rules and just clicked yes that he should be forced to take a pop quiz on the rules or somehow forced to read them >.>

Why would he need to remain banned?

/me agrees

a 3 hour ban isn't going to be an effective disciplinary action...

Man, we oughta make it to where you can't click yes for 10 minutes...

That way, they are forced to read em..

I'd just have a nap. I've never read a ToS in my life. I've probably sold my soul to at least 5 corporations by now.

It should be revised into a single, all-telling catch-all. "Terms of Service: DON'T BE AN ASS".

Flooding bans aren't disciplinary, they are done for security, I'm not keeping people banned because we haven't yet implemented client side spamming restrictions that will prevent stupid stuff like this from happening all together. I don't think we even mention this thing in the rule, the only reason we all know about it is because people get banned and come posting here all the time.

I wonder if a legal document sighning away all your posesions could be slipped into the ToS and than someone would come and confinscate all your stuff compleatly legaly without anything you could do.

There a a few things called "inalianable rights" that you can't sign away, and then there is the matter of the weak legal ground on which click through ToSs hold... but if you could make it sufficiently plain that you were going to do so you might be able to take someones possesions for them breaching a policy.

I think a better idea would be to have a little quiz that you need to fill out to get yourself unbanned.
