Commander's base menu invisible

Since I am behind a proxy and have no one to play against locally, i've just been trying out the test scripts. What I noticed is that the Commander's base menu (attack, defend, etc.) fails to draw any of the text. The buttons' backgrounds to get blue tinted as expected, and I can read the description in the info GUI, but only after I click the next menu button can I see anything.

Same here. I never know what fire or movement orders things are set to.

I'm having the same problem, after a look around the forum it seems radeon
9200's dont work well with spring. Can anyone help me? The build menu is completely invisible to me.

Me too D: New and old drivers do it. I think it's the video card, because I've tried it on two OSs, two mobos/procs, and the same Video card (9200).

me too... but from time to time... on the newer maps... (I'm guessing built on SharpMap... it seems to show up :-) ... brain coral... I have about a 50% chance of seeing the menu, and the map CLEARaDITCH I see it everytime... the map I'm working on I see it everytime, and its built on the SharpMap proggy.... but almost every other map, no luck on the menu...

I don't think its a drivers problem at all.. but rather something to do with the color use of the text conflicting with the map itself somehow... maybe the bitrate like 24bpp or something is good, and 16 is bad... who knows...

oh and I still can't get shadows, clouds, or shiny water to EVER work.... and I'm on a decient card... Mobility Radeon 9000...

I can run doom 3 with all the speciality graphics turned on shadows, bumpmapping, etc, even 512x512 on all textures... but I have to run the resolution at 800x600 to get any framerate above 20...

Mobility Radeon 9000 are actully not all that feature wise...
Games had shadows and stuff ages ago but they didn't use Nvidia Ultrashadow technolagy or similar... shadows were only added to spring becasue this technology mad it easyer to add them without slowing it down to crap. So you need one of the latest cards to use shadows (IE one that has all the newer features). Spring was not made to use shadows with older hardwear. Im affraid unless you feel like making your own code to make the shadows for u then your stuck.

::EDIT:: ere as in doom 3 they made it backward compatible with older cards doing shadows the old way, or the new way with newer cards, becauser they have time and money and lots of experiance.

its cool... I understand... I was just moaning :roll:

edit: I mean just a big dark fuzzy spot under units... that would be good enough for me... :P but meh... what can ya ask for ya know

on the radeon 9200 and text...

sometimes the text does show to me.

ive noticed that when you enable cheats in sp and change teams, it seems to get the text working.

in online games i have noted no pattern. when cheats are active and you change teams it works too.

i will put more attention on new maps and text.
