Whenever it's feasible, please add the following to the settings:
anisotropic filtering
tree LoD distance (to prevent "shadow jumping" while zooming in/out)
Also, could the current values of the slider settings be displayed somewhere? So you can see what actual number you're setting it to, rather than just a vague "somewhere between 3 and 3000".
