Too much random noise, and I hate puns almost as much as I hate pimple hills. Otherwise, everything fits together nicely, atmosphere, textures, water, features. Looks like it could be fun if a litle crowded.

Oh and I haven't played AA in a while but is that really what lazers look like now?

the environment like bruce said, well done.... the layout.. slightly crowded, and pretty flat... though, I'm sure it plays very well

but yeah, good to see they work.... hope THAT friggin many of them, isn't too painful on framerates... I was origionally aiming at like, 1/4 as many as that.... but ya know, new stuff, people get a little excited..

Noize, I am dissapointed in you. Why did you wuss out and use the "optimized" crap. Sad part is that it starts getting blurry some distance away so it doesn't mesh with the ground like it's supposed to, and this is what it looks like when you get up close.

You put the low quality versions on a 12x12?

Meh, regardless, it's a sweet map. I miss the gasbags but the tyranids are a good replacement, however another problem.

THe model above is a chimney, each one of these needs to have a geo underneath it.

I used the dds's indeed as dds is a superior format for spring texture, /me points to the why tga thread in the art and modeling forum. Also normally you don't look that closely to the feature's, you would be busy microing/macroing stuff, so it isn't THAT bad.

Thanks.

That would be a option. but a geo also has gameplay impacts so i don't want to do that. I rather wait on the ability to do features with scripts, /me looks to the developers.

Most definately! We don't have enough alien world maps.

It wasn't the fact the files are DDS that bothered me.. it was the fact that they were reduced in size, and "optimized" as a reduced size....

you take the BIGGER textures (I'm talking 1024x1024 and make them DDS without reducing the size to 512x512... and it'll be purdy!)

but meh, whatever floats your boat.

I give up trying to impress people by just giving stuff out. I'll release my features with accompanying maps, or someone helping with maps, from now on..

then you can steal them off of "demo" maps... and use them as intended...

Well you are right, when i will have time I'll make the textures to 1024x1024, using you tga textures. Unless it will hurt the framerate bad (consider the ammount of feature's i used).

2 points to Bruce, you are trying to be constructive, however you might want to load up the maps be4 you draw your conclusions based on the screenshots only. The random noise was added to give it a really alien look, also it looks quite cool when vehicles drive around, they kinda "wiggle"

Given sufficient time I would have, but exams are currently making me their man bitch.

well i'm trying to say that you shouldn't delay a release of feature's because there isn't a proper map for it. just release them with dds on a simple map, just like your first set.

Well I played the map with a drunk Lathen Stanly, and my one complaint is too many of the tentically tyranid things were facing in the same direction, and that those 'nid things were not the high quality versions.

The game play reminds me of Pinchusions, witch is a good thing indeed.
