I'll be posting alpha versions with makeshift changelogs there. There's also a feature request thread there which I'd wish you all post as much as you can, and I want very good ideas, the little things that bug people about the current client and things they'd love to see, like the event based scripting system proposed by swifstpear

you can just run them if the JRE is setup on your system correctly. if not go get it from SUN's website.

I may hope the final releases are compiled into a exe-file then?
Anyways, I have little other thoughts then: looks cool! I wish it would be done already ^.^
one suggestion, could you make a listbox for the screen resolutions next to the manual input? it would make it easyer to use.

cheers!

You would get a lot more feedback if you would upload some compiled executables. It is looking nice!

I implemented a message window for notifications like that, but so far in alpha 6b I havent tied anything to it.

I did do some work last night fixing some thigns with it, and right now it pops up if you try to join a channel and it fails.

I'm also thinking about adding a small frame window on login that would show progress. I'd like it to show the entire login process and have a progress bar but the way the protocol is setup you cant tell past the MOTD stage. I suggested some marker type additiosn to the protocol to betalord that would solve this but he was away and it was late at night so I havent a clue if he even recieved the messages.

Also I intend for game settings to have listboxes/comboboxes like in settings.exe for resolutions. However in alpha 7 the tab ahs been removed and I'm going to have a new view/page that displays AFLobby and Spring options.

Also if someone could help to setup the settings page so it dynamically loaded from an xml file all the controls and data like the XMLSettings program in 0.73b1.

Also i release alphas as JAR files (executable java files), because that allows them to be executed on any JRE regardless of OS. I also dont know how to generate .exe programs out of java code....... So if someone could point me to a tutorial or howto.

And thanks for posting those screenshots. The raw traffic window isnt that nice though and needs a redesign. And perhaps one of channel windows/pm windows? They've changed since the last shots I posted of them.

it's the java swing internal html support.

The JEditor panes used will render html 3.2 or below.

I'd eat my hat if there didn't exist a better HTML rendering library then that. Java is known for the ridiculous broadness of user made libraries for the language.

My Java is fook'd for some reason.

It can run content on sites but not onm y computer and re-installing doesn't work, instead it gives me some error and quits the installer.

I tried un-installing and installing but it didn't work.

Otherwise, AFLobby looks good.

SUN Java?

I'd check you uninstalled every single version on your computer, as I noticed it's possible to have multiple versions installed.

Iam downloading atm, but here is one idea that probally isnt impleted yet:
In the "ban unit" menu it would be nice to have the buildpics of the units instead of just "ARMFGHFGHF."
Of course you can also look it up, but maybe, when you are bored some day ;)
If it is possible to get it to work with the spring.exe, folders for maps+replays would be nice.
