Hey AI developers... long time, no Argh rants here, hehe... this one's short and probably requires a fix in Spring itself, but hey, I thought I'd bring it up.

Basically, Random placement of teams doesn't work right with AIs. It's like the client doesn't recognize that an AI has that "spot", and you end up getting stuck onto the same start points... on certain maps. This kind've sucks. Any chance that this can get fixed? It'd help with gameplay testing considerably, for tests where I very deliberately want things to be borked.

is this on maps that dont have the full 16 starting positions defined?

Yeah, I have noticed that, there is a really flat and good map, but it has all the starting points in a corner :evil:

And it screws up AI no matter whatcha do...

Ar you sure your not just settign it to choose ingame start pos, as it does that to AI's in those games.

If its on choose start position, it doesn't even choose one, lol

On the map I was talking about the spawn points are in the same area, so everytime I spawn on it, I have 3 commanders inside mine, heh

The AI's dont get instantiated untill the game starts by which time the pos choosing stage has long ended and the other players are about to be given commanders.
