Fallen Haven

Post by Snipawolf »

This is now the story, of a post-nuclear holocaust, where technology was basically non-existant anymore, this is the world of..

The Fallen Haven...

Sir William, despite his title, knew that even footmen back in medieval times had better equipment than him.. Sir William was a 50-ish year old man, who looked half that, he is very modest of it and proclaims his family had a healthy history.. He remembered, not too distinctly though, what real weapons and technology were... This metal "stick", if it could be called that, was hardly anything compared to a sword! It was more like a mace, or a club! The "armor" he was given was so different, he thought it looked like a fishes scales! It was scale leather (leather with small plates and scales of metal in it), which was surprisingly helpful against the pathetic weapons other holocaust survivors had...

Sir William held his title as a "knight" under the banner of The Complex Design (Which despite its name had hardly any technology, either!), but hosted several vehicles, fuel, and small arms, though not much of each, its stores were very valuable...

Sir William had been given his title for raiding an ancient (if it could be called that) oil facility, which is where the fuel came from, and for outstanding bravery against scavengers...

The beginnings of an epic plot? Maybe Zoombie has some competition :-)

Now, the next little post of the story..

Sir William had been waiting for something, the scouts who reported that an unusually large group of scavengers were coming weren't off by far, by looking out of the tower he could see 'em, hardly had anything worthy of weaponry or armor, it should be a piece of cake, except their sheer numbers, the average scavenger isn't smart enough to band together a group this large....

Sir William was wondering how the battle would go, the engineers were currently building technological marvels, when they had actually existed over 1000 years ago! Concrete was one of the better easily made and found productions to get, following after that, came bows and weapons that used similar properties, with the scavengers and their pathetic equipment an arrow would punch straight through, to the fleshy core!

William had trouble getting to sleep, knowing he and the rest of the facility were pretty much outnumbered, 3 to 1.... He kept soothing himself, thinking of how combustable and flammable a scavenger was...

Flaming arrows would be great, except for the fact that fire, which needed a rag and a lighter with fuel, would irk everyone because they need the materials... William didn't know what to do, except hope that The Complex Design could pull through, or had enough arrows at least...

So theres the smarter Complex dudes holding the fort against the many scavengers, both of whom have pretty crappy equipment, and a severe lack of resources? Nice start, keep it going!

And now, the next post, probably going to be small since I have about 20 mins til school :(

William looked up at his friends, John and Garry, who both had helped him in his raid on the oil supply.. William said "Well guys, we may be in a losing fight, half of our people have better supplies, and the other half have nothing..." John was the smart and intuitive one, he wasn't the strongest or fastest but managed to always get his jobs done. While Garry on the other hand was like a rock, fast, but only when adrenaline and violence were involved, he was strongest and the best warrior of the three... ( I could use a map, I may make one in GIMP to show how the positions are set up..) The scavengers were one day away, counting if they needed to sleep this night, if not, it was going to happen tonight, and hopefully the arrows would serve a bloody good purpose...

The scavengers still had several rows of apartments and half the ruins of a city to cross. The tactitionary meeting, which John normally joined, was taking place... The fastest and smartest thinkers in the complex were set at formulating many battle strategies, there were so many because different things could happen, day or night, rain or sun....

Maybe this large band of scavengers weren't quite scavengers, but banded together under another company....

Played final fantasy 7? If so, imagine the Shinra Corporation theme playing...

abouuutttt NOW!

In a Corporation unbeknownst to the reader...

A suited figure in black, puffing away on a cigar, walked up and said "The Complex Design hopefully won't find out about us, I am really glad the we have much better technology and control over scavengers than they do..."
"Ahh, shuddap, whadya know about the rest of this place, and have you been scavenging yourself? Looks like you happened to pick that suit up," said a balding man about the age of 60...

The suited figure in his suave (cool, calm) voice said "George, scavenging is the way we have this technology, and (the suited figure smirked) this cool suit." George said "Well, whatever, hopefully those scavengers we roused into action against The Complex Design will actually hinder them, or maybe, if they have better weaponry, we are just sending men into the meat grinder... Anyway Ron, you of all people know that scavengers are dangerous, if not allied or under our influence, they would rip you to shreds..." Ron said "Sometimes General George, you worry far too much, escpecially as the leader of this nation... The Order..."

Currently inside The Complex Design's Tactionary Meeting

John says to the group "I believe holding ourselves here would be the best idea, we have several hours remaining, and no other options really, archers in back, warriors in front, we should pull through..." John continued "We have mountains to the North, West, and South, and not enough time or mobility to attempt a flank, we MUST hold our position, losing now is losing forever..." The rest of the group agreed, the maps were drawn up and brought to the barracks... Sir William and Garry were readying up for the fight, this time, quality WAS quantity, the soldiers who were proven were given the best in the facility... Plate Armor and a Sword! The idea was that if these soldiers could take down at least 5 scavengers each, then it would be a winning fight...

(Ever played a Fire Emblem game? Imagine the general with a sword... 'Tis what half the army looked like, if not, urhmm, I ain't drawing a damn picture...)

Image

(Drop it down to 1 layer of armor, and it looked like that, with a sword..)

William grimaced at the thought of this slaughterfest.... Garry was hyped up and ready to go! He couldn't settle down for a second... All he could think about was the fight, nothing else... The soldiers filed out of the barracks and formed up in their formation, warriors in front, archers in the back... The group of mangy, smelly scavengers were approaching...

William wondered why, this large group had no weaponry, or armor, it was ludacris to come towards the complex, but they kept on rushing towards the facility... In just a few seconds the group of scavengers began to sprint towards their inevitable doom!

And, since I am bored as hell... I will be writing about the fight, its pretty damn gruesome... HAHAHhahah... hah.. haha... ha... Okay, I'm done...

William and Garry trudged out of the barracks, they were like rocks in a river... A very slow river, William thought, "Damn, this is pretty heavy, I can't believe they wore it way back then...." As William passed a rocky outcrop he noticed something from behind the rocks, it twitched, then he saw an arrowhead shining in the sun, it flew into one soldiers eye... The soldier, screaming his throat out, was writhing on the ground for a second, then there was a pool of blood and he was dead.. Garry yelled "FLANK!" and ran off towards the rocks at a startling speed.. William wondered how the hell he moved so fast in that armor, he then sprinted over to the fight... By the time he had gotten there Garry had completely severed the archers head from his body, laughing his ass off at his slain foe!

(I have to take a shower, and my little bro is getting on :( I will be back to finish it!

Here we go again, on the other computer...

William prayed for the fallen soldier, while Garry had done what he normally does, taken a bone from his foe and put it in his bag... In this case, he ripped off a piece of the archers spinal cord...

Afterwards, Garry and William almost immediately noticed what was going on... A diversion! Garry climbed atop the largest rock and swung his sword towards the opposite direction, yelling "ABOUT FACE!" Right as the army turned around the scavengers appeared at the direction everyone was now facing... Their plan was futile and now it had been foiled... The scavengers readied there bows and fired, William roared "SHIELDS!"

As the soldiers brought up their shields, most were lucky they weren't hit by the rain of arrows, others were more unfortunate, and those in plate armor merely shrugged it off... While the scavengers dropped their bows, they pulled out their metal sticks, or maces depending, and rushed towards the army... Soldiers on the front line took out 3 to 1 on an average basis, this was good, the scavengers were being hacked apart left and right, and the size of them dwindled down to less than 50 in a few minutes... The remaining scavengers ran like Hell hath no fury like these soldiers!

William prayed for the fallen, and wondered why these heathens even tried... Garry had collected about 7 more bones... Two from wrists, one from a guys finger, a rib, an ankle, and two from some scavengers upper legs... Two scouts followed after the scavengers, and discovered it was a trap, luckily the tactioners had planned ahead instead of sending the whole army after them...

wow, this sux... no one is reading :(

Anyhow...

In The Order's Headquarters

Ron said "Hmmm, I think that the idea didn't work, and scavengers can't do shit but die unless they have a good strategy..." George said "Well... I believe we shouldn't worry about it for now, it'll all be fine..." Ron said "Well, only a few of thousands at our disposal..."

Back down with the troops of The Complex Design

William boomed "Soldiers, we shall follow a different path than the scouts took, this path will surprise the enemy, and leave him in shock while our blades cut the bond of the soul to the body!" All of the soldiers roared their approval. William boomed "Mooove out!" and the soldiers started marching towards their foes in their loud and clanky armor, the archers were given scale leather and told to defend the complex...

Several hours later

William roared "CHAAAAAAARGE!" and the soldiers rushed at the scavengers. While the scavengers nearly slipped and fell in fright, they quickly regathered themselves and something unexpected happened, the general rallied and the scavengers grabbed their arms and rushed at the troops! Garry had been dancing through the pitifully weak scavengers, severing limbs as he went, and keeping a count in mind for the amount of bones needed to be collected... William charged towards the man who had rallied these scavengers back together, and started fighting with him.
This man had actual armor on, was fast, and was decently good with his sword. William swung his sword over his shoulder bringing it down towards the general, the general parried and let Williams sword continue into the ground, where it was stuck for a few seconds, the general then took a swing at Williams head, which William blocked thorougly with his shield. Williams arm was stinging and he hurried to finish the fight, he yanked his sword from the ground and swung it harshly on the horizontal plane, the general ducked and swung towards Williams sword arm, which then became useless and nulled, William had to finish this, as fast as possible, he could be loosing this fight, Willaim used all his might and slammed his shield into the generals face, he fell over backwards squealing and holding his nose, which wasn't the only thing broken or bleeding... To finish his enemy, William brutally stomped his nose with a wet thump each time, until he ceased to move.. The rest of the troops mopped up while William was brought to the infirmary back at the complex....
