I just made an Ice Ball, IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE YELLOW!

And I loaded its same texture up in 2nd texture, then it became shiny!

Srry for bad format too bad :P

Edit: I think I understand the RGB channels now, considering all the texturing was done in MS paint...

how can you even save a .tga in RGBA format in paint???

i dunno, I didn't do anything, just made the tex for the Shock Ball, then loaded it up in both (1 and 2), I saved it as a PNG

You can't. He's probably using bitmaps and figures out what each channel on texture 2 does :P

it need an alpha channel too. the shiny is the green channel on the 2nd texture.

Waht does red do, I didn't have too much :P

I think red is "glow". Note that it doesn't actually make a light effect that will shine on other things, but it gives the texture a neat neon-light sort of effect.

For God's sake, texture in GIMP Snipa. Paint isn't made for producing functional multichannel images for games, paint is made for entertaining toddlers so they don't screw around with your PC.

here's my one achivement so far. i'm using it as a learning exercise. one thing i've learned is that Upspring doesn't like rotating parts!

the light blue stuff on there has been glowmapped to the max. the paint job is a little bit crappy as i'm still playing :?

that's actually one of the hoverpads that is in completely the wrong place (not where i left it honest!), stretched and inverted :| . the one you can't see is just inverted.

I know that :P I was testing and just seeing wtf would happen if I did try that, anyway....

I don't know how to change the color in GIMP, despite the tutorials I did :|
