What about a feature to have a metal extractor remove n metal from the ground it covers every second? Would need small values of course but would be fun to make finite metal deposits. That could be interesting for some mods (some AA variant?).

Could be an interesting feature. It might be best to have the mappers define the amount of metal in each patch. I think it could be used to create emphasis to expand. You could start out with small patchs that run out quickly and force you to expand to find larger deposits to sustain your war machine.

it would have to be about 0.001. also, it would make metal makers the only thing worth building in the long run.

not in OTA mods. but as a feature why not. now you find someone to code it (unless you can yourself)
