What a frame per second actually is...
A FPS(Frame per Second) is the speed per second which pixels change color to make something move...
The frame is the color on the screen...
What you are currently reading is light, its colored though, pixels can change color, because pixels are what the light is in....
Most people DON'T know what this is!
Suprising, eh?

It's how many times the image is updated on the screen in a second.
This is directly related to the refresh rate of your monitor, aka a 60Hz display wont show anything above 60 fps because it's impossible.
VSync in nvidia cards is where the framerate is prevented from exceeding the refresh rate of the monitor.

I am dreadfully sorry. I really did NOT mean to post three times. It was a ugly shock. Also I'm fairly certain I'm not a noob (Seeing as how I've been here for slightly more then a year and a day) and I detest Speedmetal with a passion.
Sorry about the triple posts. If i knew how to delete them, I would.
