Three siblings! Three storys! Three enemys! Three amazing adventures! One shocking twist! One really big store!

The not-so-distant past. 4:30 PM

├óÔé¼┼ôThen I won't let them touch me├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger smiled at the man. He frowned at her, even though the others around him were laughing uproariously. Ginger looked at Jimmy, who gave her a quick thumbs up. Jimmy had hoisted a video camera on his shoulder and was cranking it slowly, aiming it at Ginger. Ginger smiled at the crowd, who was settling down. ├óÔé¼┼ôNext question├óÔé¼┬Ø Walter said. The man with the bowler cap stood up ├óÔé¼┼ôWhat ammo are you selling?├óÔé¼┬Ø he asked.

The not-so-distant past. 8:11 PM

Stupid Stupid Stupid Stupid. Ginger looked at the door, her heart in her throat. She had meant to joke, to be flippant. But her words were coming back to haunt her, her police jacket half torn off. Her undershirt was white, easy to see, unlike her very nice blue cover. The door cracked slightly, another loud BANG coming from the other side. Ginger stood up slowly, pulling the spent bullets out of her revolver. She slid in six more rounds. That left her with...none left for later.

The not-so-distant past. 8:06 PM

├óÔé¼┼ôr..right├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger looked at the other officers ├óÔé¼┼ôWe're going to be in narrow hall ways, so don't...don't shoot each other in the back├óÔé¼┬Ø. A nervous chuckle went up from the others, each of them looking at each other. Jimmy cranked his camera steadily. ├óÔé¼┼ôIn we go├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said, pulling out her revolver and opening the door. They all filed into the mansion. It was strange, being in such a high end place. Ginger was used to her brothers house. She gulped, not wanting to take the next step. She wavered. ├óÔé¼┼ôDo you see anything?├óÔé¼┬Ø One of the officers whispered. Ginger shook her head and took a step forward.

They came to the first door after a few steeps. ├óÔé¼┼ôYou two├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger pointed out two officers ├óÔé¼┼ôTake our flanks├óÔé¼┬Ø she was starting to feel better, now that they were in the thick of it ├óÔé¼┼ôThe rest of you, with me├óÔé¼┬Ø. The officers nodded. The two guards looked nervously up and down their respective hallways, eyes twitching for any sine of movement. Any thing. Ginger reached for the knob. Then stopped. ├óÔé¼┼ôAfraid?├óÔé¼┬Ø One of the officers asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôNo├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger licked her lips. She still didn't reach for the knob. ├óÔé¼┼ôI'll do it├óÔé¼┬Ø The officer said, stepping forward. Ginger stepped aside for him.

The officer turned the knob and opened the door slowly. It creaked slightly. It was a linen closet. There were blankets, most dusty and mildewed. Ginger let out a shuddering sigh, not sure whether to be relieved or frustrated. The officer holding the knob open closed the door slowly. ├óÔé¼┼ôNext one?├óÔé¼┬Ø he whispered. Ginger nodded at him feeling irate. The group walked slowly to the next door, the only sound their muffled footsteps and Jimmy's camera cranking. It felt like they were trespassing, even though the owners of the house had been dead for some hours now.

They got to the next door. ├óÔé¼┼ôNot a closet, this time?├óÔé¼┬Ø The officer asked. Ginger frowned at him, then reached for the door. Then she stopped. ├óÔé¼┼ôFor god's sake!├óÔé¼┬Ø The officer snapped, stepping forward. ├óÔé¼┼ôNo!├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger almost shouted at him ├óÔé¼┼ôWait...I have an idea├óÔé¼┬Ø. She gently rapped on the door. There was silence. They stared at the door. ├óÔé¼┼ôFor god's sake├óÔé¼┬Ø the officer muttered. Then a rotting fist smashed through the door, about shoulder level, and grabbed the officer's arm. Ginger was frozen for a second, her heart leaping into her throat.

Two police officers brought their guns up and fired into the door, their low caliber rounds just chipping the wood. The officer who had been grabbed was screaming his head off, rotting fingernails digging into his sleeve. There was a sound of moaning form the left and the right, and some panicked yelling. Ginger looked at the sentry's. One of them was firing wildly down the corridor. ├óÔé¼┼ôAIM!├óÔé¼┬Ø She shouted, trying to get a hold on the situation. One of the guards fired one last time, then a wave of corpses bore him down. Ginger felt sick as he vanished under feet and fists and tearing teeth. Blood splattered. The other one fired again and a single enemy dropped, one out of at least twenty. The screaming office yanked his arm away, but then the door burst open.

A rotting, half eaten away face stared down at Ginger. Ginger backed away, scrabbling for her pistol, the machete left half pulled out of her scabbard. She got the gun out and aimed straight forward. She squeezed the trigger and the gun leaped in her hand, almost a shock. The zombie fell backwards slightly, a large hole torn in its torso. Ginger tried to ignore the screaming around her, the press of police officers backing away. She fired again, praying to God that something would save her. The zombie fell backwards, its head pulped by the round. Ginger ran forward.

Ginger turned around and saw the snide officer reaching for her, his arm torn and bloody. Then a zombie bit down on his neck and blood fountained out of it. Ginger gasped something between God and a strangled yelp, then turned away. She found herself in a smallish room. It had a door out. She ran for it, hearing plodding footsteps behind her. She got to the door and wrenched it open. It was a bathroom. She turned around and saw zombies, at least twenty or so, shambling into the room. Ginger fired wildly, her shot gone wide. Her vision blurred, her eyes darting from left to right, searching for an exit.

There was none. Ginger's breath came short. The zombie's were so close. Ginger fired again and by luck, rather then design, she hit a zombie in the jaw. Its jaw shattered, leaving it more disfigured but still walking. Ginger steeped into the bathroom and slammed the door shut. She locked it, bolted it and sank back against the opposite wall. She pressed her body against it and tried to slow her breath. It had only been five minutes and now Jimmy, the others were dead. And she would be dead as well. She looked at her pistol. It was empty. She pulled out six bullets and slid them into the chambers. That left her with...none.

The not-so-distant past. 11:23 AM.

Joshua walked into the motel. It was a crummy, nine dime affair. He slid his fedora off and looked around. ├óÔé¼┼ôCan I help you?├óÔé¼┬Ø The clerk asked. The clerk was a rather over weight man with greasy hair. He was reading a magazine, rather then looking at Josh. Josh walked over to the desk, his boots clunking loudly. There was a jangle under his shirt. The room was only lit by the sunlight outside. It was streaming through the windows.

├óÔé¼┼ôI have a warrant├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said softly. The clerk looked up. And up. He squinted at the bespectacled figure. From that angle it looked like Josh had no mouth, covered by his trench coat. ├óÔé¼┼ôWho the hell are you?├óÔé¼┬Ø the clerk asked. Josh opened his trench coat slowly. There was a page from the bible taped above his heart. It flapped in the air. Below it crucifix's of silver and gold make jangled softly on short chains. Below those a single wooden stick was strapped. A hammer was slipped into the pocket next to that. A single vial of water was in the self same pocket.

├óÔé¼┼ôOh├óÔé¼┬Ø The clerk said ├óÔé¼┼ôYour one of THOSE├óÔé¼┬Ø he nodded knowingly. ├óÔé¼┼ôYes├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said softly ├óÔé¼┼ôNow where would your rooms for...those be?├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôIn the basement├óÔé¼┬Ø The clerk said, pointing down ├óÔé¼┼ôJust don't wake the law abiding customers├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôUnless they are over three hundred├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said ├óÔé¼┼ôThey won't be sensitive enough to feel me as a Man of the Cloth├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôRight├óÔé¼┬Ø The clerk snorted softly, a disgusting sound of mucus getting ingested. Josh turned away and walked down the stairs. The air suddenly felt very still and dead, with a faint chill from being under ground. Josh got to a door and on the door a single piece of cardboard was nailed at head hight. It said, in lurid red lettering ├óÔé¼┼ôVamp's here├óÔé¼┬Ø.

Josh opened the door slowly and walked into the room. He looked around at the squarish coffins that were resting upright against the wall. There were ten, each with a small name tag in a allocated slot. Josh slowly walked around the coffins, muttering names under his breath. He found the one specified under the warrant. He slid the lid off and looked at the whithered corpse in the coffin. It was wearing a very cheap shirt, with lots of patch's. A stove pipe hat was next to the corpse, with a single cockroach clambering over the tall brim.

Josh slid out his vial of water and splashed it in the face of the corpse. The thing lurched forward, screaming. Hissing vapor rose off the face, but the hands of the corpse whipped off the holy water. The corpse was suddenly looking more like a young man then a withered corpse. The vampire shook himself, climbing out of the coffin ├óÔé¼┼ôWhat the FUCK!├óÔé¼┬Ø he said petulantly, feeling his face ├óÔé¼┼ôDo you know how much that STINGS!├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôAbraham J. Jehovah├óÔé¼┬Ø July said, pulling out the warrant ├óÔé¼┼ôI have a warrant for your arrest, right here├óÔé¼┬Ø He unfolded it in front of the vampires face.

Abraham's face was completely frozen as he read the note. He could see it fine, even in near pitch blackness. ├óÔé¼┼ôAnything you say or do is├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh started to say. Then the vampire attacked him, his hands reaching out like claws. Josh rolled backwards and his hand grabbed the door knob. He pulled it open and sun light poured in from the windows over the room. Abraham jerked back, hissing. His fangs dropped down, making him to look more like a monster. ├óÔé¼┼ôNow├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said ├óÔé¼┼ôAre you going to come quietly, or do I have to drag you in with a steak in your heart?├óÔé¼┬Ø.

There was a click. Josh dived to the side before a bullet hit the coffin behind him. He pulled out his stake. ├óÔé¼┼ôYou have no class├óÔé¼┬Ø he muttered. Then Abraham fired again. He was a poor shot, half blinded by sunlight, so the shot went wild. It hit another coffin and the lid of that slid off. Josh ran forward, batted Abraham's gun away. Then he placed his steak over the creature's heart and slammed it once with the hammer. Josh brought his hammer down again and Abraham's face shriveled up and he sank down, landing with a plop. Josh sighed and slid his hammer back into his pocket. He picked up the lid of the coffin that had slid off and pressed it into the coffin it had come off of. He looked at his watch ├óÔé¼┼ôGonna have to hurry├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôOr I'll be late for Ginger's press release├óÔé¼┬Ø.

The not-so-distant past. 4:12 PM.

Steve danced from one foot to his other. ├óÔé¼┼ôCome on, hurry up!├óÔé¼┬Ø he knocked on the door ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm going to be late for my sisters press release!├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôFuck off!├óÔé¼┬Ø the wolf shouted through the door. ├óÔé¼┼ôYou agreed to see my client in court!├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve shouted ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm not leaving until you come out!├óÔé¼┬Ø. The wolf sighed ├óÔé¼┼ôI don't want to come out...its daylight├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôYour not a mosquito!├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve snapped ├óÔé¼┼ôYou can take it being a bit bright├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôSon of a bitch├óÔé¼┬Ø The wolf muttered. Then he opened the door.

Steve looked him over. He didn't look like a wolf. They usually tended to be very bony, tall and sallow with pigtails. Its because their hair grew very quickly, apparently. This man was tall, sure, had pigtails, but was almost over weight. ├óÔé¼┼ôI didn't do it, by the way├óÔé¼┬Ø the wolf muttered. ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm sure you didn't├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve muttered. Then the Wolf looked at him, eyes flashing ├óÔé¼┼ôYou always believe the worst of us, don't you├óÔé¼┬Ø. Steve smiled ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm fair to all race's├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôRight├óÔé¼┬Ø The wolf said, dragging it out ever so slightly.

They got into Steve's Chevy and started to drive. The Wolf was in the back seat, not chained, but kept distant from the Wolf. ├óÔé¼┼ôSo this guy thinks I ate his dog?├óÔé¼┬Ø the Wolf asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôYeah├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said ├óÔé¼┼ôHe's pretty adimint about it├óÔé¼┬Ø. The wolf sighed slowly. They arrived at the court ├óÔé¼┼ôCan you walk yourself in?├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve asked ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm late for my sisters press release├óÔé¼┬Ø. The wolf nodded slowly ├óÔé¼┼ôOkay├óÔé¼┬Ø he said. ├óÔé¼┼ôGood├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said, opening the door. The Wold got out of the car and walked to the court building.

Then Steve drived off, running several red lights. Then he arrived at the building the press release would be held. He parked his car and pulled the key out. He slid the key into his back pocket and walked to the building. He opened the door to the press release and walked int softly. Josh looked at him, already blaming him for being late. Steve raised up his hands, to say he was sorry. Then he heard Ginger say ├óÔé¼┼ôThen I won't let them touch me├óÔé¼┬Ø and laughed, assuming the question she had been asked. He knew his sister would do great on her first day on the Zombie Extermination Team.

I'm going to assume that that is a GOOD thing.

I think...

Did you READ the original ZET, perchance. Or anything else I've written.

You know, just out of idle curiosity.

I can write two things at once. In fact I think I'm healthier when I funnle my powers into two creative outlets, or I start writing on walls and useing makeup.

Am I crazy good or just plain crazy? Only time will tell. Now back to writing 2 storys at the same time.

The door was starting to cave in. Ginger leveled her pistol at the door. Then she grabbed her crucifix with her other hand and kissed it. The door gave even more, a rotting fist pounding it inwards. Ginger saw a face suddenly visible in a crack in the door. She fired, but the bullet went wide by less then a inch, the bullet hitting the door. As if that was a signal to cave in, the door gave completely and the hoard of zombies poured into the room. Ginger looked around. Then she saw the shower stall.

She ran into the shower stall, feeling a rotting hand grabbing the back of her shirt. She ran forward and it tore even more. She slid open the shower stall glass door and jumped in. Then she closed it behind her. The zombie's pressed up against the glass, not intelligent enough to break it. They understood doors and barriers, but not windows and glass. They would eventually crack it by sheer weight. Then she saw a small window above the shower. She took out her machete and smashed the but of it against the window.

After one more strike she shattered the window. Then she started to climb out, pushing madly against the other side of the shower. Then she was stuck. Then a particularly bright zombie brought its fist back and smashed it against the already stressed glass. The glass exploded inwards, and a single shard stuck in Ginger's thigh and she pushed herself forward with a sudden burst of strength. She slid onto the roof. She tried to stand, but her leg was too weak. She felt around at her thigh and found the shard of glass. She yanked it out and yelped in pain.

Ginger climbed along the roof, wincing every time she bumped her leg. Then she got to a window. She thanked God that the roof was not too slanted and opened the window. She climbed into the room and lay on the floor, her heart pounding. Then she grabbed the curtains off the wall and tied a quick bandage around her thigh. It hurt like the dickens, but it stopped the blood flowing. She stood up slowly, putting more weight on her non injured leg. She looked around the room and saw that she was standing in a bed room, with a plush bed, a book shelf and a door. She immediately limped to the door and locked it. Then she pressed a chair against it.

Ginger looked around the room, trying to breath slow. Her clothes were matted with sweat, and she felt like she was ten pounds heavier with sweat. She leaned against the wall and looked at the shelf of books. ├óÔé¼┼ôHey├óÔé¼┬Ø She muttered ├óÔé¼┼ôBram Strokers biography├óÔé¼┬Ø she reached up and pulled Dracula off the shelf. The book came half way off, but snagged on its corner. Then the bookshelf sank into the floor and revealed a door. Ginger blinked ├óÔé¼┼ôSo├óÔé¼┬Ø she muttered ├óÔé¼┼ôI suppose this place has something more unusual about it then the walking corpses├óÔé¼┬Ø.

She placed her hand on the knob and slowly opened the door. Inside was a coffin. ├óÔé¼┼ôOh dear├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger muttered ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm also talking to myself. Thats a problem, isn't it├óÔé¼┬Ø. The coffin was very ornate, with handles and a single white dove on the front, standing out clearly in the black background. Written on the bottom of the coffin was the words:

├óÔé¼┼ôOs iusti meditabitur sapientiam,
Et lingua eius loquetur indicium.

Beatus vir qui suffert tentationem,
Quoniqm cum probates fuerit accipient coronam vitae.
Kyrie, ignis divine, eleison
O quam sancta, quam serena,
quam benigma, quam amoena
O castitatis lilium├óÔé¼┬Ø

Ginger fumbled over the unfamiliar words. Something about them stuck a bell, but she couldn't quite grab it. Then the coffin slowly opened. Ginger backed up hastily, but her bad leg gave way and she fell back on the ground. She winced, feeling the back of her head where she had banged it. Then the coffin finished opening and a man stepped out. He wore a white suit with a black jacket draped over his shoulders, not buttoned. The man slowly tilted his neck to the side and Ginger heard a crack as his bones realigned. Then he yawned slowly, showing his very long fangs.
Then, almost as an after thought, he looked down at Ginger. ├óÔé¼┼ôHmmm├óÔé¼┬Ø he said, jerking his finger up. Ginger was picked up off the ground and placed on her feet. She averted her eyes from the vampire, knowing that good ones can hypnotize you more easily then breathing. For a vampire, breathing was a habit that had to be reinforced by constant repetition. Even the best could forget to breath for many minutes, before realizing they are making everyone stare. This one was very good, as he was breathing evenly, steadily and normally.
The vampire reached forward. Ginger was worried that he would grope her for a second. Then he plucked her crucifix out from between her shirt and skin. He held the holy object as if it was a hunk of crap. But he wasn't burning, or recoiling in fear like most vampires do. ├óÔé¼┼ôA Catholic?├óÔé¼┬Ø the Vampire said softly ├óÔé¼┼ôIn my ancestral home? This will not do├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger gulped ├óÔé¼┼ôW...What do y...you want?├óÔé¼┬Ø she asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôWell├óÔé¼┬Ø The vampire said ├óÔé¼┼ôMy name is...Tim├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôT...Tim?├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger was visibly shaking. ├óÔé¼┼ôYes├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim looked away ├óÔé¼┼ôNow what are you doing in my home, Catholic whore?├óÔé¼┬Ø.
├óÔé¼┼ôWhore!├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger snapped. Then she remembered who she was talking too. ├óÔé¼┼ôYes├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said ├óÔé¼┼ôI moved to this undiscovered continent to avoid the Holy Roman Empire and the Inquisition that came with it├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôInquisition?├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger asked ├óÔé¼┼ôT...They haven't been around for hundreds of years├óÔé¼┬Ø. Tim blinked ├óÔé¼┼ôSo├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôThis is not a wheel lock?├óÔé¼┬Ø he pulled out Ginger's revolver and looked it over, eyes wide. ├óÔé¼┼ôIts a six shooter├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said, starting to feel more at ease. Then there was a crash and a zombie slammed against the door.

├óÔé¼┼ôWhat is this?├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim asked, looking at the door. ├óÔé¼┼ôWell├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said ├óÔé¼┼ôI was s...sent in as a exterminator├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôWHAT!├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim shouted, picking her up by her collar and squeezing it. Ginger gasped ├óÔé¼┼ôZ...Zombies├óÔé¼┬Ø she said. ├óÔé¼┼ôStenches?├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim dropped her ├óÔé¼┼ôHere? In my HOME!├óÔé¼┬Ø. He opened the door. The two zombies looked at him. Then they reached forward. ├óÔé¼┼ôHave you forgotten your place?├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim asked. One of the zombies tried to bite his arm. ├óÔé¼┼ôCur!├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim shouted, baring his teeth. Then there was a flash and the zombie's head was off. It collapsed and Tim dropped the head on the ground, his fingers suddenly twice as long, claws sprouting from the end.
Ginger backed away from the vampire, eyes wide. Then Tim kicked one of the zombie's and it flew into the wall, sending out a radiating pattern of cracks. Tim closed the door and turned back to Ginger ├óÔé¼┼ôI suppose├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôThat you should do your job├óÔé¼┬Ø. Then Ginger slammed the window shut and rolled down the celling. Tim frowned and opened the window after her. He looked out over the city and blinked ├óÔé¼┼ôIts very different├óÔé¼┬Ø He said. He remembered when this entire area was nothing but tree's and buffaloes. ├óÔé¼┼ôSo├óÔé¼┬Ø he said, spotting the massive, man made letters in the hills ├óÔé¼┼ôThis...is...Hollywood├óÔé¼┬Ø.
Ginger caught her fall on the gutter. Gunk splattered onto her hand, and she winced at the hard steel that was cutting into her palm. Then the gutter gave way and she plummeted into the bush's below the first level. Ginger rolled out of the bush's, shaking herself to clear her head. Then the window behind her shattered and a zombie arm reached out and grabbed for her hair. Ginger jerked forward and crawled a few feet away from the window. The zombie kept groping uselessly, still trying to get her.
The night was when Josh rested. He did most of his work during the day, and so he spent his nights actually sleeping, unlike his brother Steve who was gallivanting across the country, fighting Werewolves. Vampires and Zombie's were city creatures, while Werewolves preferred the open planes between Hollywood and the other city's. Not that many Werewolves ever needed to be found. They didn't usually kill people, witch was the only reason to hunt them. Josh stepped over a string of garlic and ducked under another string of garlic. He sat down at his bed and pulled off his over shirt.
He looked around the room and thought that he might need to put some more crosses on the wall. The walls of the room were covered with crosses, gold, silver and wood ones. The single window in the room had two steel shutters and on the inside part of the shutter were four more crosses. Underneath the door was a water pipe that constantly gurgled water beneath the door. Under the window a small fountain poured water constantly. Josh had built this during the hight of the Repression, when his occupation was one of the most dangerous ones in America.
Then his phone rang. Josh got off his bed and picked up the phone and pressed the receiver against his ear. ├óÔé¼┼ôThis is Joshua Smith├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said. ├óÔé¼┼ôHey Josh├óÔé¼┬Ø a scratchy voice came through on the other end. ├óÔé¼┼ôDanny?├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôGot it in one├óÔé¼┬Ø Danny said ├óÔé¼┼ôI was wondering if you're open for poker at my place├óÔé¼┬Ø. Josh shook his head ├óÔé¼┼ôNo├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm bushed. My little sister is taking down her first job and...well... she trained endlessly for this day├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôYour worried├óÔé¼┬Ø Danny pointed out the obvious ├óÔé¼┼ôDon't worry. Ginger's team is on the news├óÔé¼┬Ø.
Josh stood up and walked over to his TV, bending as far back as he could so as to not unplug the phone. He turned it on. ├óÔé¼┼ôWell├óÔé¼┬Ø Danny said ├óÔé¼┼ôSee you some other night├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôBy Danny├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said, hanging up the phone. Then he tuned the TV to the right channel and sat down on his bed to watch. He had turned it to the news station during a commercial break. Josh waited patiently for the television to get through the annoying commercial.

Steve spun his gun round on his finger. It was an extra large pistol, shooting pure silver rounds. Steve dropped his gun when his phone rang. He picked up the phone and pressed it against his ear, reaching one handed for the gun he dropped. ├óÔé¼┼ôSteven Smith├óÔé¼┬Ø he said. He grabbed the gun and cocked his ear, listing. ├óÔé¼┼ôUh-huh├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôI...Yes...bu...He did what! I'll be there in five minuets├óÔé¼┬Ø he hung up the phone and slid the gun into his holster. ├óÔé¼┼ôWho was that?├óÔé¼┬Ø Sandra asked, still laying in bed. ├óÔé¼┼ôNo one honey├óÔé¼┬Ø Smith said ├óÔé¼┼ôJust a job I need to do├óÔé¼┬Ø.
His wife got up, frowning at him ├óÔé¼┼ôYou said you had no jobs├óÔé¼┬Ø she said. ├óÔé¼┼ôYeah, well├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said ├óÔé¼┼ôIt's an emergency├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôAren't they all?├óÔé¼┬Ø Sandra asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôPretty much├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve pulled on his coat and walked to open the door. Sandra grabbed him and planted a kiss on his lips. ├óÔé¼┼ôGive them hell, honey├óÔé¼┬Ø Sandra said. Steve smiled at her ├óÔé¼┼ôRight├óÔé¼┬Ø he said. Sandra rolled her eyes as he walked out of the room. Steve walked out of his house and to his car. He ran over what he had to do in his head. ├óÔé¼┼ôNow, where is King fish park?├óÔé¼┬Ø he murmured. Then a huge form landed on the hood of his car and the furry figure ran up and over his car, leaving twenty odd dents and gouges.
├óÔé¼┼ôSon of a bitch!├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve shouted, running out of his car. It was night time, and the moon was out. The werewolf was almost out of sight before he got a bead on it. Steve fired his gun, aiming for a leg. There was a shower of blood and the werewolf fell to the side, one of its legs suddenly giving way. It skidded along the ground and snapped its head around, wolfing madly. Steve ran to it as three police cars screamed around the corner, sirens blaring. Steve got closer to the massive wolf and stopped, looking at him. ├óÔé¼┼ôWhy didn't you just go to court?├óÔé¼┬Ø he muttered.
The police cars stopped next to the wolf and four officers ran out of them, guns ready. ├óÔé¼┼ôDid he kill anyone?├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôNo├óÔé¼┬Ø One of the officers said ├óÔé¼┼ôHe just spooked a poor woman, crushed the hood of a car and broke one of my officer's arms├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôRight├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said ├óÔé¼┼ôget a net and we'll throw him in prison to cool off├óÔé¼┬Ø. One of the officers was looking at the sky ├óÔé¼┼ôIt's not a full moon├óÔé¼┬Ø he said. Steve looked up. It was not a full moon. ├óÔé¼┼ôHe shouldn't be this strong├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve murmured. ├óÔé¼┼ôI thought they only turn to wolves at the full moon├óÔé¼┬Ø the officer said. ├óÔé¼┼ôWell├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said as two of the officers threw a net over the wolf, who had curled up into a smallish ball ├óÔé¼┼ôThere powers are related to the moon. The more full the moon, the more power a werewolf. I would say that this guy is stronger then he should be├óÔé¼┬Ø.
The net fully in place the officers dragged the wolf to their police car and threw it in the back. It wolfed and howled, but didn't put up too much of a fight. ├óÔé¼┼ôWell├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said ├óÔé¼┼ôI think you can handle it from now├óÔé¼┬Ø. The officers nodded ├óÔé¼┼ôThanks Hunter├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôCall me Steve├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said, walking back to his house. He opened the door and Sandra looked at him. She had been knitting again. ├óÔé¼┼ôWell├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said ├óÔé¼┼ôIt wasn't as much of an emergency as I had thought├óÔé¼┬Ø. Sandra frowned at him. ├óÔé¼┼ôNice sweater├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve smiled at her. ├óÔé¼┼ôIts a quilt├óÔé¼┬Ø Sandra said.

History lesson!

├óÔé¼┼ôThis is Gloria Kissinger, reporting for the eight O clock Action News!├óÔé¼┬Ø Gloria smiled at the camera ├óÔé¼┼ôhere we have the historic first assignment of Hollywood's first Z.E.T team. The house behind me was owned by the Blackhorse family, dating back to the sixteen hundreds. Founded back when this was little more then a farming valley, this house has stood sense then. Now a party, hosted by the late Jobe Blackhorse, was suddenly put to a end when a zombie, identified at the late Miss Blackhorse, proceeded to eliminate the guests. One survived, fleeing the house. Now a estimated twenty zombie's are still inside, and only a few minuets ago we heard gun shots! We can only hope that these brave men and women, lead by the first woman Zombie Hunter, Ginger Smith, can do their duty├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôAnd commercial!├óÔé¼┬Ø her operator said. ├óÔé¼┼ôOh god damn it├óÔé¼┬Ø Gloria backed away form the house ├óÔé¼┼ôDo we have to be so fucking close to a fucking stench house?├óÔé¼┬Ø.
├óÔé¼┼ôStop worrying Gloria├óÔé¼┬Ø her operator said soothingly ├óÔé¼┼ôIf a zombie comes out, we just run or walk quickly away├óÔé¼┬Ø. Gloria placed a hand protectively on her beehive hairdo ├óÔé¼┼ôBut it took my hairdresser four hours to do this do, and I don't want to ruin it├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôCommercial end in three seconds├óÔé¼┬Ø a tech shouted. Gloria sighed and resumed her forced smiled. ├óÔé¼┼ôAnd now├óÔé¼┬Ø She said ├óÔé¼┼ôWe are back here at the site of├óÔé¼┬Ø. Then there was a loud clattering thump and a figure fell off the roof, grabbed the gutter. Then it fell into a bush and was grabbed at by a zombie hand.
Gloria Kissinger became the first newscaster to soil their panties on air. She ran from the area, screaming her head off. ├óÔé¼┼ôMam!├óÔé¼┬Ø Her director ran after her ├óÔé¼┼ôMiss Kissinger!├óÔé¼┬Ø. The camera boy followed them with the camera, not wanting to miss this drama. Only the tech remained behind, running forward to grab the woman who had fallen off the roof. She was fine, other then a large gash, and he quickly helped her away from the zombie arm. Without anything to grab, the zombie arm retracted into the building. ├óÔé¼┼ôAre you all right├óÔé¼┬Ø he asked, smiling at the woman. ├óÔé¼┼ôNo!├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said ├óÔé¼┼ôWe need to get a Vampire Hunter down here├óÔé¼┬Ø. The Camera boy had come back and was filming the proceedings. ├óÔé¼┼ôA vampire!├óÔé¼┬Ø The tech said, startled ├óÔé¼┼ôBut, the...zombies?├óÔé¼┬Ø.
Joshua was already running out of his room. ├óÔé¼┼ôThe entire Z.E.T was cut to pieces├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said, not sure whether she should be telling a stranger these things. ├óÔé¼┼ôWho's fault was it?├óÔé¼┬Ø the camera boy asked, piping up for the first time in his other wise uninteresting career. Ginger looked at him and shook her head ├óÔé¼┼ôI don't know├óÔé¼┬Ø she said. Then there was a squealing of tires and Joshua's car slammed to a stop, almost smashing into the wall of the Blackhorse Mansion. ├óÔé¼┼ôGinger!├óÔé¼┬Ø He said, running up to her ├óÔé¼┼ôAre you okay!├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôYes├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm fine├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôWho is this?├óÔé¼┬Ø the director asked, bringing a still shivering Gloria Kissinger back to the van.
├óÔé¼┼ôJoshua Smith├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said, reaching forward with his hand ├óÔé¼┼ôVampire Hunter├óÔé¼┬Ø. The director took it and shook ├óÔé¼┼ôWhy are you here?├óÔé¼┬Ø then he rounded on Ginger ├óÔé¼┼ôAnd where is your team? Did you leave them in there?├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger choked. She suddenly realized that Jimmy was dead. ├óÔé¼┼ôThe-...they....they...they...they├óÔé¼┬Ø she gasped ├óÔé¼┼ô They're dead!├óÔé¼┬Ø. She started to cry ├óÔé¼┼ôThey're dead!├óÔé¼┬Ø. Joshua leaned protectively towards her. The camera boy cranked his camera harder, not wanting to miss any of the drama. Kissinger seemed miffed that she wasn't getting attention.
Then the front door of the Mansion opened. Tim stepped out into the night, scratching under his chin with a long fingernail. Behind him were the shredded corpses of twenty odd zombie's, each one torn limb from limb. Yet not a single droplet of blood had touched Tim's white suit. He walked down the front steps of the mansion and looked at the news crew. He blinked ├óÔé¼┼ôAh├óÔé¼┬Ø He said ├óÔé¼┼ôThe Catholic├óÔé¼┬Ø. Joshua instinctively reached for his stake. ├óÔé¼┼ôAnd a Hunter?├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim walked up to them. He suddenly brightened, bowing deeply ├óÔé¼┼ôI take my hat off to you, good sir├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôI am Lord Timothy Alfred Blackhorse, the third. Hunter for the Royal Protestants Church of England├óÔé¼┬Ø.
Josh gulped ├óÔé¼┼ôYou used to be a hunter?├óÔé¼┬Ø he asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm afraid, yes├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said ├óÔé¼┼ôOne of my targets had the skill, wit and power to turn me into one of their kind, as I was still a virgin at the time├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôOh├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said. ├óÔé¼┼ôOh?├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim asked ├óÔé¼┼ôAnd here is the Catholic├óÔé¼┬Ø he said, bowing to her ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm afraid when I awoke I may have been a little rude to you. For that, I apologize├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôI have a name├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said ├óÔé¼┼ôGinger Smith├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôGinger├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said slowly, as if it were a completely foreign language ├óÔé¼┼ôSmith├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôWhat is going on?├óÔé¼┬Ø The director asked. The camera boy cranked harder. ├óÔé¼┼ôWhat is this?├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim asked, looking at the camera. ├óÔé¼┼ôWhen did you go to sleep?├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôAt the year of our Lord, Seventeen eighty four├óÔé¼┬Ø
├óÔé¼┼ôThat would make you...very old├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said ├óÔé¼┼ôBut you've missed on a lot. Come with me├óÔé¼┬Ø. Tim shook his head ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm afraid I need to tend to my property. It seems my family members did not keep it as such as I wished├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm afraid├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said ├óÔé¼┼ôThat things are different now. Your property is being impounded and sprayed down with antibiotics to prevent anyone else becoming a zombie. And you need to register with the Undead Relations Bureau, apply for a blood license and get a I.D├óÔé¼┬Ø. Tim blinked ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm afraid I don't speak that language├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôPlease repeat it in English├óÔé¼┬Ø.

Josh shook his head ├óÔé¼┼ôJust come with me. Your property will be cleaned for you├óÔé¼┬Ø. Tim straightened his jacked with a quick tug ├óÔé¼┼ôFine├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôI believe that I can part with it for the moment├óÔé¼┬Ø. They all walked to Josh's car. Ginger took a single steep and felt very embarrassed when her leg collapsed under her. Tim grabbed her faster then any human could and steadied her quickly. ├óÔé¼┼ôThanks├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said. ├óÔé¼┼ôNone is required, Catholic├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said, somewhat coolly. ├óÔé¼┼ôI have a name├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said. ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm sorry....Ginger├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said.

With Tim safely buckled in the back seat, Josh helped Ginger into the back ├óÔé¼┼ôWe'll be stopping at the doctors├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôThey can help you there. Have them call Steve and he'll help you├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger felt mildly irritated, admits her fog of emotions. She was very tired, the blood loss making her head swim. She was also very very sad. Jimmy was dead. ├óÔé¼┼ôI├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said, his voice strained ├óÔé¼┼ôHurry, if you would. The Chat...Ginger is dying├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger shook her head ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm fine├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôThe injury nicked an artery├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said, as if discussing the weather ├óÔé¼┼ôand the dressing has failed to do much about that├óÔé¼┬Ø. Josh started to drive, looking worried.

├óÔé¼┼ôAre you sure this will keep him?├óÔé¼┬Ø The warden asked. Steve looked at the cell and nodded. It had a solid silver door and foot thick concrete wall. ├óÔé¼┼ôMake sure he stays in there until the moon wanes. He should have it out of his system by then├óÔé¼┬Ø. The prison had called up Steve when the Wolf had broken out of two different cells. Steve had netted the wolf, forced some wolfsbane down his throat and then brought him to a higher security prison. The Warden there had a werewolf cell, but even so he was nervous. ├óÔé¼┼ôThere is something strange about this one├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said ├óÔé¼┼ôGive him a double dose of wolfsbane every day until the waning. Just to be sure├óÔé¼┬Ø.

├óÔé¼┼ôA double dose?├óÔé¼┬Ø The Warden asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôDouble├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said. ├óÔé¼┼ôRight├óÔé¼┬Ø The warden said, nodding. ├óÔé¼┼ôWell├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said ├óÔé¼┼ôMy wife is really mad, its ten O'clock and I really need to go home├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôRight├óÔé¼┬Ø The warden said ├óÔé¼┼ôGood day├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôNight├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve corrected him as he walked out of the prison. ├óÔé¼┼ôRight├óÔé¼┬Ø The Warden muttered before the door slammed. ├óÔé¼┼ôDamn Hunters├óÔé¼┬Ø He muttered ├óÔé¼┼ôAlways telling us what to do├óÔé¼┬Ø. There was a loud slamming nose and the door shuddered. ├óÔé¼┼ôGive him a triple dose├óÔé¼┬Ø The Warden said to his aide. ├óÔé¼┼ôYessum├óÔé¼┬Ø his aid said.

Steve drove his car home, head tilted at an odd angle to avoid the large dent in the celling caused by the Wolf running up and over it. He had researched the man in question, trying to puzzle out anything that might make him different from other werewolves in the country. Born Zander Devill, he had changed his name to Wolf when he had been bitten during the last werewolf scare of fifties. Other then that he had no interesting history's or criminal record's. Steve saw a red light and pressed the brakes down. He bumped his head on the large dent in his celling and his car barked some smoke out from under the hood.

Tim sat in the sterile hospital room and drummed his fingers. Things had changed, far more then he had expected. Fireless lights, horseless buggy's, guns that fired more then one bullet without being reloaded. Humans had gone far and spread farther then he expected. Then he heard the door open with a slight squeak and the big brother of the Catholic walked into the room. He had taken off his large trench coat and hat. Now he wore a very odd suit, with blue, tight fitting pants and a button less shirt with short sleeves.

├óÔé¼┼ôHello Timothy├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said, sitting down on the other side of the table and looking at the vampire. He had done some research while the doctors had been working on Ginger. Lord Timothy Alfred Blackhorse had been a licensed Hunter, paid and operated by the English Crown and Protestant Church. He had been listed as killed in action, fighting a vampire in Ireland. ├óÔé¼┼ôTim, please├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said, tilting his head slightly ├óÔé¼┼ôHow is your sister?├óÔé¼┬Ø. Josh was slightly taken aback, but he nodded ├óÔé¼┼ôShe'll be fine, as soon as they start the blood transfusion├óÔé¼┬Ø.

Tim blinked ├óÔé¼┼ôA blood transfusion?├óÔé¼┬Ø he asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôI'll explain later├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said ├óÔé¼┼ôBut the important thing is to give you a history lesson. Very few vampires actually manage to survive more then four or five hundred years old. The eldest vampire's spend most of their life in seclusion, and you are the first one who has been waken up after a long nap├óÔé¼┬Ø. Tim smiled ├óÔé¼┼ôIt seemed like the best idea at the time├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôIt actually was├óÔé¼┬Ø Joshua said ├óÔé¼┼ôYou managed to avoid the harshest period in Human/Undead relations. In the seventeen hundreds and eighteen hundreds over five hundred vampires were burned at the stake or killed for little to no reason, other then existing├óÔé¼┬Ø.

Tim nodded, taking this in. ├óÔé¼┼ôBut in 1914 a war began. It was, and continues to be the most bloody war in the history of mankind. It lasted eight years, settling into a constant stalemate between two alliances, made up of America, France and Brittan, against Germany, the Ottoman Empire and the Austria/Hungry Empire . In the end over eleven million people died. But it ended because of one man├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said, reaching into a packet of papers he had brought with him ├óÔé¼┼ôHe was named Axel Zimmerman and he was a vampire. He also single handedly routed an entire army├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôThat is no mean feat├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said ├óÔé¼┼ôEven for a vampire├óÔé¼┬Ø.

├óÔé¼┼ôWell, to be fair├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said ├óÔé¼┼ôHe used a machine gun├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôA...machine...gun?├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said the words slowly, trying to puzzle it out. ├óÔé¼┼ôImagine a weapon that could fire hundreds of rounds in a few minutes, putting out a constant stream of bullets├óÔé¼┬Ø. Tim gaped at him. ├óÔé¼┼ôAxel used the machine gun while the French were rushing the trench at night, and because he was a vampire, he could actually hit the enemy. Also because of his...ability's he could aim even better then most men in daylight. He killed a record number in a few minutes, counts ranging from one to two hundred men├óÔé¼┬Ø. Tim gaped at Josh. ├óÔé¼┼ôThe French line broke and ran, but the Germans rallied and rushed the trench's. Because the French were so completely broken the Germans actually managed to capture over three miles of area├óÔé¼┬Ø.

├óÔé¼┼ôThree miles was a big deal?├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôIn a war were ten meters was a victory, yes├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said ├óÔé¼┼ôIn fact it brought the German line within five miles of Versailles. Then they started to shell the city├óÔé¼┬Ø. Joshua frowned, shuffling through his papers ├óÔé¼┼ôAfter a severe shelling, the French brought another army to Versailles. But the Germans were entrenched too much, and the French were repulsed. By now Axel was known to be a vampire├óÔé¼┬Ø. Tim frowned ├óÔé¼┼ôI can only imagine what happened to that poor├óÔé¼┬Ø he started, but Josh cut him off. ├óÔé¼┼ôHe was made a Major and commander of a new, all Vampire team├óÔé¼┬Ø.

Tim gaped at him. ├óÔé¼┼ôThis new Vampire team numbered fifty. They were given free license to feed on the enemy, fight at night and use all their powers├óÔé¼┬Ø. Tim gaped at Josh, still shocked. ├óÔé¼┼ôAfter that the Treaty of Versailles was singed and the French surrendered. After that the Allies were with one less nation and they surrendered. Fortunately everyone was tired of war and the surrender was rather uneventful. After that Vampires, and later Werewolves, became more accepted by society. The Blood bank and the chemical production of wolfsbane made them able to blend with society and the Equal Rights for Undead act made Vampires and Werewolves protected under law├óÔé¼┬Ø.

├óÔé¼┼ôBut there are still Hunters├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said ├óÔé¼┼ôSill people like you├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôYes├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said ├óÔé¼┼ôBut I don't just kill Vampires left and right. I fight only Vampires that break the law, just as Werewolf Hunters fight Werewolves who break the law. Just as police men fight Humans who break the law├óÔé¼┬Ø. Tim didn't look completely convinced. ├óÔé¼┼ôSo├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said ├óÔé¼┼ôI need you to sine this├óÔé¼┬Ø he slid a paper over the table. Tim looked at it. It read ├óÔé¼┼ôEQUAL RIGHTS FOR UNDEAD FORM├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôThis form will ensure that you get regular blood dosages. Your going to have to get used to less blood then normal, just one feeding a month├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôA MONTH!├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim shouted ├óÔé¼┼ôThats-├óÔé¼┬Ø.

├óÔé¼┼ôNecessary├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said, finishing Tim's sentence for him ├óÔé¼┼ôIf every Vampire got blood from the blood banks too often, we wouldn't have any left. And thats even with mandatory blood donations├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôHow is it a donation if its mandatory?├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim asked. Josh had no answer to that. ├óÔé¼┼ôThis form also allows you a free coffin. It's not going to be a nice one but├óÔé¼┬Ø. Tim cut him off ├óÔé¼┼ôI have a coffin├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôPersonally engraved, obsidian make├óÔé¼┬Ø. Josh nodded ├óÔé¼┼ôYou can keep that, though you'll have to find a place to store it├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôRight├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said ├óÔé¼┼ôWhere are other vampires?├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôThere are vampire meeting places all over the city├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said ├óÔé¼┼ôBut the Consultant is a very old vampire. She can teach you about surviving in this day and age├óÔé¼┬Ø.

Tim slumped back in his chair and sighed, sweat gleaming on his pale face ├óÔé¼┼ôIts so new├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôEverything has changed├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôYou'll survive├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said ├óÔé¼┼ôLife is better for vampires then it ever has been├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôRight├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said ├óÔé¼┼ôNow├óÔé¼┬Ø he ran his hand through his hair ├óÔé¼┼ôWhere...can...I get some BLOOD!├óÔé¼┬Ø he slammed his hand down on the table, denting it severely. Josh jumped ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm sorry├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôLet me get some right now├óÔé¼┬Ø. He got up and practically ran out of the room. Tim sat there, not sure if he could hold on much longer.

Ginger blinked. Then she was asleep again. Then she opened her eyes and looked around. Steve was sitting next to her bed. ├óÔé¼┼ôHello├óÔé¼┬Ø She said softly, feeling very warm and safe in her blanket. ├óÔé¼┼ôHi├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said ├óÔé¼┼ôJosh should be here soon├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôHe's just filling in your new friend into the modern day and age├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôOh├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said, ready to say something more. But she was interrupted by a knock on the door. A police man leaned into the room and hissed some words at Steve. ├óÔé¼┼ôSon of a ├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve started, then he remembered he was next to Ginger ├óÔé¼┼ôI need to go├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said. Then he ducked out of the room, leaving the door open.

Then Tim staggered past the room. His fangs were extended to full length, his mouth open. His eyes, the normal vampire red, were almost aflame with hunger. ├óÔé¼┼ôI need blood├óÔé¼┬Ø he gasped, his voice low and feral. Then he looked in the room. At Ginger.

The story heats up with...law suites!!!

├óÔé¼┼ôI TOLD YOU TO GIVE HIM A DOUBLE DOSE!├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve roared at the warden. The warden was sitting in his chair, looking as if a shotgun had hit him square in the face. ├óÔé¼┼ôDOUBLE!├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve repeated, lifting up the corpses arm and letting it drop ├óÔé¼┼ôA triple dose, not matter how strong the wolf, WILL KILL THEM!├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôBut but but but├óÔé¼┬Ø The warden gibbered ├óÔé¼┼ôI didn't know!├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôYou should have!├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve leaned over the table and leered at the Warden. The warden quailed under his gaze. ├óÔé¼┼ôYou'll be hearing from an incompetence comity├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said ├óÔé¼┼ôI'll see you out of a job before I'm through├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôHe was just a wolf!├óÔé¼┬Ø The Warden said, as if that excused it. Steve sighed, still wanting to strangle the man. He looked at the dead Wolf. ├óÔé¼┼ôSee you in court├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve muttered, walking out of the prison.

Once he was outside in the rather warm summer night, Steve leaned against his damaged car and sighed. It was shaping up to be one hell of a night. Now he had a lot of explaining to do to Sandra. He drove home, glad that traffic was nearly nonexistent. He drove up to his home and got out of the car. He walked into his house and heard the gentle snores of Sandra. Steve took off his coat and lay down on the sofa, not wanting to wake his wife. He blinked and fell asleep. Then the phone rang. He heard his wife answer the phone angrily. Then she gasped. ├óÔé¼┼ôSTEVE!├óÔé¼┬Ø She shouted.

├óÔé¼┼ôI don't care what blood├óÔé¼┬Ø Joshua snapped. The medical personal, who was obviously a temp, grabbed a bag of blood and threw it to Josh, who turned around and ran down the corridor. He ran past Steve, not taking time to say hello to his own brother. Then he rounded a corner and saw Timothy stalking down the hallway. He stopped at Ginger's room and looked into it. Josh ran forward, panicking.

Ginger tried to push away from Tim as he stalked towards her, drool dribbling down his chin, mouth gaping wide. Then suddenly he pounced and jumped onto her. For a second she could only see his red eyes. Then she felt two pinpricks on the side of her neck and an odd sense of falling. She closed her eyes, everything going gray.

Josh ran into the room, feeling his stomach drop out from under him. He ran into the room and grabbed Timothy's shoulder. The vampire flicked him away with a lazy bat of his arm. Josh flew backwards and slammed into the far wall. He fell forward and lay there, stars swimming in front of his eyes. He got to his feet, then collapsed. He came too a second later and tried to get up again, his head still spinning. The blood bag lay at his feet, crushed and leaking. The red fluid was the last thing he saw before he blacked out.

Josh came too later, blinking foggily. He felt like he had been thrown against a wall by a rhino. Then he saw Timothy and a doctor leaning over him. Josh shoved himself up, looking around. ├óÔé¼┼ôWhere is my sister!├óÔé¼┬Ø He shouted ├óÔé¼┼ôIs she okay!├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôDon't worry├óÔé¼┬Ø The doctor said, but Timothy shook his head, looking very pained. ├óÔé¼┼ôIs she OKAY!├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh shouted. Timothy looked at the ground ├óÔé¼┼ôShe's dead├óÔé¼┬Ø. Josh slumped back against the bed, banging his bandaged skull against the bed frame. Pain shot through him and he almost blacked out.

├óÔé¼┼ôYou idiot!├óÔé¼┬Ø the doctor shouted, cuffing Tim on the head. ├óÔé¼┼ôShe is!├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said, wounded. Ginger was sitting up in her bed, looking at the argument. She still felt like a brick wall after the demolition, but she was feeling stronger every second. ├óÔé¼┼ôYou shouldn't be sitting up├óÔé¼┬Ø The doctor moved over to the bed and fretted over Ginger. She shook her head ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm fine├óÔé¼┬Ø she said, looking ravenous ├óÔé¼┼ôBut...I'm a bit hungry├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôI'll get you some...├óÔé¼┬Ø The doctor said. Ginger nodded dumbly. Then she started to cry, putting her head in her hands.

Josh looked at his sister, feeling a haze of relief. ├óÔé¼┼ôYou...liar├óÔé¼┬Ø he said to Tim. Tim looked away, as if he didn't want to look at Josh. Ginger looked up at Josh. Then she looked away, covering her face. ├óÔé¼┼ôGinger├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh mumbled ├óÔé¼┼ôHow are you├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôDon't....├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger moaned ├óÔé¼┼ôdon't!├óÔé¼┬Ø. Josh felt an odd flicker through his stomach, a sense of unease. Then he blinked and was out like a light.

He woke up later. He was feeling slightly better, but overall he would still not rate himself as feeling 'good'. Ginger and Tim were still standing near his bed. ├óÔé¼┼ôYou've got a mild concussion├óÔé¼┬Ø the doctor said, leaning over the bed ├óÔé¼┼ôBut you'll be fine├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôSo├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said ├óÔé¼┼ôI got here in time├óÔé¼┬Ø. The doctor's face fell ├óÔé¼┼ôNo├óÔé¼┬Ø he said. Ginger looked away, her eyes closed. ├óÔé¼┼ôGinger├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said ├óÔé¼┼ôWhat's wrong, we-├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger opened her eyes and Josh noticed something very slightly off about them.

No. It must be the light, a trick of the light. Then she looked straight at him, tears wetting her eyes. They were ruby red. Josh felt all the euphoria drain away, an uncomfortable sensation some what alike to having a sword pushed through your gut. ├óÔé¼┼ôI am dreadfully sorry├óÔé¼┬Ø Timothy said. ├óÔé¼┼ôGet out├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said. Tim turned to leave and Ginger turned as well. ├óÔé¼┼ôStay├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh placed his hand on his sister's arm. Ginger stayed. The doctor, knowing he was inside a very touching situation, walked out of the room too.

├óÔé¼┼ôI'm├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger started to say she was sorry, but Josh fixed her with an icy stair. ├óÔé¼┼ôDon't be├óÔé¼┬Ø He said ├óÔé¼┼ôNever be sorry for what you are├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger gulped. ├óÔé¼┼ôYou're not the first to be turned against your will. Accept and adapt. That is what they taught us at school, the Hunter Academy, if we were turned├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger nodded. ├óÔé¼┼ôNow├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said ├óÔé¼┼ôI think I'm going to fall asleep now├óÔé¼┬Ø. Then he did. Ginger watched her brother sleep. She could feel the beating of his heart, through the air between them. She felt an odd hunger arise in her, a feeling arising from her chest to her mouth. She felt her teeth gently, easily, descend.

Then she shook her self. ├óÔé¼┼ôI...├óÔé¼┬Ø she ran her hand through her hair ├óÔé¼┼ôI need Blood├óÔé¼┬Ø. She walked out of the room. The doctor was still holding the blood bag, almost absentmindedly. Ginger plucked it out of his hand. She remembered when bully's had grabbed her books from her when she was young. Now it was as easy as taking candy from a baby. Ginger bit into the corner of the plastic bag and tore. Blood, stale and nearly tasteless, poured into her mouth, filling it with a coppery taste. Ginger gulped it down, sucking the blood down more ravenously then she had ever done when she was drinking water. She licked the interior of the bag, sucking every last droplet of blood.

The doctor gagged, his face as white as a sheet. Timothy, however, was smiling at Ginger. Ginger licked her bloody fingers and sighed, feeling better then she had in years. Then she realized she was drinking blood. Ginger felt like gagging, but her stomach wouldn't. She tried to force a reaction, but her body was unresponsive to anything other then the blood. She felt ashamed to feel her nipples hard against her shirt. ├óÔé¼┼ôI need to go├óÔé¼┬Ø she said, almost running to the nearest bathroom. She looked herself in the mirror and saw that blood was smeared over her face. She started to wash, rubbing her face with water and rags.

After frantic scrubbing she managed to get the blood mostly off. There were still reddish streaks over her cheeks. Then she heard the door open and she spun around. Timothy walked into the bathroom. ├óÔé¼┼ôThis is a girl's bathroom├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said. ├óÔé¼┼ôI would like to offer my dearest apology's├óÔé¼┬Ø Timothy bowed low, extending his head slightly ├óÔé¼┼ôIf you wish, snap my neck├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger stood dumb, looking at Tim. ├óÔé¼┼ôTim├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôA life taken doesn't balance a life lost├óÔé¼┬Ø she quoted her brother on that. Josh could be preachy at times, a nasty reminder that he was a preacher.

Tim looked up ├óÔé¼┼ôI suppose├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôthat it is my duty, my obligation to teach you what it is to be a Child of the Night. A Nosferatu├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger blinked ├óÔé¼┼ôThanks├óÔé¼┬Ø She said, thinking it sounded very inadequates. ├óÔé¼┼ôBut├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said, not rising from his bowing position ├óÔé¼┼ôI need a favor of yours├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôWhat?├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôI need you to teach me of the way's of your new age as much as you need me to teach me of our old ways├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said. ├óÔé¼┼ôVery well├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said ├óÔé¼┼ôWe'll start with bathroom rules├óÔé¼┬Ø she pointed to the door ├óÔé¼┼ôA lady's bathroom is for women folk only. Men are strictly not aloud├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôI beg your pardon!├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim bowed his way out of the room. Ginger followed him out ├óÔé¼┼ôAnd my first question about being a vampire is...is it always so...intense?├óÔé¼┬Ø. Tim slowly straightened and looked at her. ├óÔé¼┼ôIs...what so intense?├óÔé¼┬Ø he asked.

├óÔé¼┼ôFeeding├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger blushed. ├óÔé¼┼ôNo├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said ├óÔé¼┼ôThe first time is always the best time, some have said├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger nodded, feeling relived. It felt wrong to feel good while drinking blood. She took a step and felt metal brush her skin. Then she felt a serious burning. Ginger screamed, tearing her over shirt off and tearing her crucifix off. She threw it as far away from her she could get. The cross landed and skittered over the ground. Ginger panted, feeling the burn over her left breast. Tim looked away from her partially exposed flesh. Ginger buttoned up her shirt quickly and looked at the zipper she had broken on her over shirt. ├óÔé¼┼ôDamn it├óÔé¼┬Ø She murmured. ├óÔé¼┼ôYou might need to find a new way to express your faith├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said.

Then Steve ran round the corner. He immediately ran straight for Tim and grabbed him around the lapels. He slammed the vampire against the wall ├óÔé¼┼ôYOU BASTARD!├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve roared. Ginger was surprised to see Steve's wife round the corner, running even with high heel shoes on. Tim didn't fight back as Steve punched his gut as hard as he could. ├óÔé¼┼ôYou sick bastard!├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve shouted, spittle flying from his mouth ├óÔé¼┼ôYou sick son of a bitch├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôSteve no!├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger shouted. Every single punch he landed shivered through Ginger's body, as if she was feeling it second hand.

Steve held back his last punch, witch looked as if it would shatter Tim's jaw. Then Steve saw Ginger's eyes. He suddenly looked more hurt then if Tim had killed Ginger outright. Steve let Tim slid out of his hand. ├óÔé¼┼ôYou've got blood on your cheek├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve breathed softly. Ginger felt a stab at her heart and turned away. Then she felt Steve press a napkin against her cheek and he whipped the blood off. ├óÔé¼┼ôYou're still my sister├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said. Sandra walked up behind her husband, looking concerned. ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm sorry├óÔé¼┬Ø Timothy bowed to Steve ├óÔé¼┼ôFor defiling your sister├óÔé¼┬Ø.

Ginger spotted a clock on the wall and realized that it would be day break soon. ├óÔé¼┼ôI need a place to sleep├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said. ├óÔé¼┼ôYou can use my coffin├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said ├óÔé¼┼ôIt is only right that I face day break without fear├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôNo!├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said ├óÔé¼┼ôYou have to teach me. I'll stay at a motel├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôMo...tell?├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim asked. Ginger laughed, feeling like a piece of twine stretched to a breaking point ├óÔé¼┼ôI've got a lot to explain, don't I├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôI'll drive you├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said ├óÔé¼┼ôIt might be a bit cramped in the back seat├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôWhat about Josh?├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôThe doctor said he'll be out for the night├óÔé¼┬Ø.

Ginger sat in the back seat of the car, reading the sines as they flashed by. Her eyes darted over the sines and finished them before they even got close to the window. She had a hard time reading the sines even at broad day light, before. But now she could read them easily at four in the morning. ├óÔé¼┼ôSo├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said ├óÔé¼┼ôYou're going to have a busy night├óÔé¼┬Ø he looked over his shoulder at Ginger ├óÔé¼┼ôYou need to sine several wavers, get a new coffin and face the music over what happened at the Blackhorse Mansion├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger remembered that suddenly and felt like crying, except she seemed to be out of tears.

Hmmm, being turned into a vampire sounds fun! Do these vampires turn into bats or grow wings and stuff? Or do they only suck blood?

Can you please stop saying 'sine' instead of 'sign'? It's very confusing

Sorry. I've had a weird problem with spelling words that sound the same, but look different.

Wait...now that I think about it, its not all that unusual.

Or is it? However I will try to keep a weather eye out for the sine singe issue. Witch is witch again?

sign = you know what a sign is...
a sign is a message. A thing that can tell you something. Examples
"That sign says to turn left"
"There were numerous signs of combat - the walls..."

singe = slightly burn (leaving a mark) something like wood, hair or fabric

More importantly Zoombie, sine = a trigonomic function. As some people are deathly allergic to any form of mathematics (whom I try my hardest to refrain from laughing at :P ) such a misspelling is a potential health hazard.

New episode!

Josh staggered into his house and felt his head. The doctor told him to take it easy, and he had been taking it easy for the entire day. That meant he had plenty of time to brood over what had...happened to Ginger. He still wanted to strangle that bastard Timothy, but Josh knew too much about vampire's to do that. For one they don't really needed to breath. For another Timothy had been in a feral, starved sate. He couldn't really have been controlling his actions, not on an intellectual level. So Josh plumped down on his chair and looked around his room. Ginger would never be able to visit in here, not with all the precautions he had taken. That shot another, fresh, pang of sadness.

Then the telephone rang. ├óÔé¼┼ôJoshua Smith├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said dully. ├óÔé¼┼ôHey Josh├óÔé¼┬Ø Danny's throaty voice came through the other end ├óÔé¼┼ôAre you up for cards? Sally will be there├óÔé¼┬Ø. Josh thought about saying no. Then he realized that there was nothing to keep him from brooding over Ginger for the next few hours. ├óÔé¼┼ôSure├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôI'll be there quick. And boy did I have a day├óÔé¼┬Ø. Josh got up and walked out of his house, wondering when he would be able to spend more then a few seconds in it.

Around the table sat the big Three. Josh was shuffling cards, wearing his under shirt, crucifix around his neck visible over his white clothes. To the left of him was Danny, a colored man with a cigarette dangling from his fingers. Danny wore sunglasses, covering his red eyes, even though it was night. Danny took a long pull on his cigarette, not worrying about his lungs. As a vampire he had little to no use for them. To the left of Danny sat Sally, who was scratching herself behind her left ear. Sally's ears stuck out at least three times longer then a normal humans, and were furred.

Sally looked at Josh and licked her lips. Josh was never sure if she was thinking he was delicious in a literal or figurative sense. He settled on the somewhat flattering and somewhat worrying answer of 'both'. ├óÔé¼┼ôSo├óÔé¼┬Ø Sally said ├óÔé¼┼ôI heard that your bro went after Wolf. Got him killed├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôI don't know about that├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said ├óÔé¼┼ôBut he did seem pretty furious about something when I last saw him├óÔé¼┬Ø. Sally licked her lips again ├óÔé¼┼ôYour brother, do you think he...killed Wolf?├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôNO!├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said, looking at her, shocked that she would even think about that. ├óÔé¼┼ôWell he is a hunter├óÔé¼┬Ø Sally said ├óÔé¼┼ôIt's his job├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôDid I ever try to kill Danny?├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh asked.

├óÔé¼┼ôYou tried to make me stop smoking├óÔé¼┬Ø Danny rasped ├óÔé¼┼ôI can't LIVE without these├óÔé¼┬Ø. He guffawed. ├óÔé¼┼ôYeah, yeah├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh muttered ├óÔé¼┼ôNow Steve, I know for a fact, has never killed a werewolf without good cause├óÔé¼┬Ø . ├óÔé¼┼ôThat cause being?├óÔé¼┬Ø Sally asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôThe werewolf was trying to kill him├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said. Sally didn't seem entirely convinced, but she leaned back and cricked her neck. Josh resumed shuffling his cards. The clouds parted and a bit of moonlight came through the window. Sally shivered as it passed over her and frowned when the clouds closed again. ├óÔé¼┼ôThe moon is bright to night├óÔé¼┬Ø Sally murmured.

Steve listened. ├óÔé¼┼ôBut├óÔé¼┬Ø he said. Then he was cut off and listened again ├óÔé¼┼ôI don't care that...but...no your not listening! Son of a bitch├óÔé¼┬Ø He slammed the receiver down and swore at the phone. ├óÔé¼┼ôBastard!├óÔé¼┬Ø he said. ├óÔé¼┼ôWhat's wrong?├óÔé¼┬Ø Sandra asked from the table. She was reading the evening newspaper while eating the last bits of food from dinner. ├óÔé¼┼ôApparently because Wolf had no family, and I'm not a relation, I can't sue!├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said, sitting down at the table ├óÔé¼┼ôThe fact that a man has died doesn't seem to phase these people much├óÔé¼┬Ø.

Sandra sighed ├óÔé¼┼ôSteve├óÔé¼┬Ø she said ├óÔé¼┼ôHe was just a wolf├óÔé¼┬Ø. Steve frowned formidably at her ├óÔé¼┼ôJust a wolf...├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôSandra, I don't believe I've made this clear before. I respect Werewolves as people, just as much as any one should├óÔé¼┬Ø He got up and walked out of the room. Sandra was left there, her mouth half full of half chewed food. She got up and followed her husband. ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm sorry├óÔé¼┬Ø she said ├óÔé¼┼ôBut you've got to make more time for your life!├óÔé¼┬Ø. Steve turned around and looked at Sandra. ├óÔé¼┼ôHalf a year and you've barely been here!├óÔé¼┬Ø she said.

Steve's face fell ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm sorry├óÔé¼┬Ø he said softly. ├óÔé¼┼ôI suppose we both have problems├óÔé¼┬Ø Sandra said. ├óÔé¼┼ôWell├óÔé¼┬Ø Steve said ├óÔé¼┼ôI think werewolves in the city are cooling down for a bit├óÔé¼┬Ø. Sandra smiled and walked to Steve. ├óÔé¼┼ôI'll cut the phone cable├óÔé¼┬Ø she murmured in his ear. Steve groaned and backed into his bed room. Sandra followed him, but she tripped on a bit of furniture that was sticking out. She fell into him and they both fell to the soft carpet. They didn't get up for a long time.

Ginger woke up, wanting to stretch. But she was trapped, wood all around her. She felt like she was buried alive. She pushed out madly, panic boiling in her veins. Then the front of her coffin fell off and she staggered out into the open air. She breathed heavily, eyes darting around the room. Timothy's coffin was open, and he wasn't inside. The night was young and she was feeling alive. Very alive, as a matter of fact. Ginger walked out of the room in the motel. It stank slightly of mildew and cigarette smoke, but it was still better then burning up at day break.

Ginger walked down the hallway of the motel, looking around. Everyone else was asleep, other then a few rooms were slightly muffled noise. Ginger focused and she could hear clearly the television from one room. She could pick out the words form the announced on the news. Ginger shook her self and walked back to her room. She walked into the room and closed the door. She could still hear the sound of the television and pick out a word in two, despite being an entire room away from the set.

Then the door she was leaning on opened and she fell into Tim's arms. ├óÔé¼┼ôI see you're awake├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said. ├óÔé¼┼ôWhere have you been?├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger asked. Tim looked a little guilty ├óÔé¼┼ôOut and about├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger frowned ├óÔé¼┼ôWhat do you mean?├óÔé¼┬Ø she asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôWell its been so long sense I've seen the stars├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger immediately relaxed, not sure what she had been worried about. ├óÔé¼┼ôSo├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said ├óÔé¼┼ôI stepped outside and was assaulted by a the sounds and sights. So I kind of...went for a walk.├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger frowned again ├óÔé¼┼ôSo...what happened?├óÔé¼┬Ø she asked.

├óÔé¼┼ôNothing├óÔé¼┬Ø Tip said ├óÔé¼┼ôI just met some nice men, helped a lady in need and stopped a common thug├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger kept frowning, not sure she wanted to hear the deals. Tim walked past her, slipping into the room ├óÔé¼┼ôSo├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôhow do you like your first night as a Nosferatu?├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôIt feels...good├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said ├óÔé¼┼ôI expected to feel more dead├óÔé¼┬Ø. She prodded her arm. It felt like her arm. ├óÔé¼┼ôWell├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said ├óÔé¼┼ôYou will feel a bit euphoric for the first few weeks. You are now immortal, so you don't need to worry as much. However...there is a period that I called the longing. You'd do anything to see the sun├óÔé¼┬Ø.

Ginger was actually already missing the sun, but she nodded. ├óÔé¼┼ôBut after that, how you feel is up to you├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said ├óÔé¼┼ôNow I noticed these booths with odd device's...somewhat simmaler to those!├óÔé¼┬Ø he pointed to the telephone. ├óÔé¼┼ôOh├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said ├óÔé¼┼ôThese are telephones├óÔé¼┬Ø She said ├óÔé¼┼ôYou dial a number├óÔé¼┬Ø she demonstrated ├óÔé¼┼ôAnd then it connects you to another person's telephone and you talk to them├óÔé¼┬Ø. She hoped that explanation made sense. Tim nodded ├óÔé¼┼ôSo...how does it work?├óÔé¼┬Ø he asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôSome other day...night├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said.

Josh looked at his hand, then at Danny. The old vampire smiled stiltedly, showing a single fang. Josh shifted uncomfortably in his chair, not sure what to do next. Sally placed her hand down ├óÔé¼┼ôI fold├óÔé¼┬Ø she said. ├óÔé¼┼ôWell├óÔé¼┬Ø Danny said ├óÔé¼┼ôI suppose it's time to up the ante├óÔé¼┬Ø he dropped several coin's in the pile├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôGambling really is a sin├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh muttered ├óÔé¼┼ôBut I raise you by ten├óÔé¼┬Ø he said. Then he pressed his hand down, showing his cards. Danny's smile faded ├óÔé¼┼ôI was bluffing├óÔé¼┬Ø he said. Sally swore loudly, pushing her chair away. Josh looked at the clock and realized how late it was getting.

├óÔé¼┼ôWell├óÔé¼┬Ø He said ├óÔé¼┼ôI really need to be going├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôCome on!├óÔé¼┬Ø Danny said ├óÔé¼┼ôI have lots of money to lose to you!├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôNo├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said ├óÔé¼┼ôI, and Sally, actually need sleep├óÔé¼┬Ø. Sally nodded ├óÔé¼┼ôI need less then he dose though. But what the hell├óÔé¼┬Ø she said. Josh got up and walked to the door, opening the door and holding it open for Sally. Danny took his glasses off ├óÔé¼┼ôJosh├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôSee you next night├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôWe'll see├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said ├óÔé¼┼ôOh and my sister might visit you later├óÔé¼┬Ø.

Josh and Sally walked down the street. Sally felt the moonlight on her back and shivered. She snuggled closer to Josh, who seemed to not notice. ├óÔé¼┼ôSo├óÔé¼┬Ø Sally said ├óÔé¼┼ôCan I walk you home?├óÔé¼┬Ø. Josh smiled ├óÔé¼┼ôI thought that I walk you home, not ht other way around├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôJosh├óÔé¼┬Ø Sally said ├óÔé¼┼ôcan you do me a favor?├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôSure├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said. ├óÔé¼┼ôScratch me behind the ears├óÔé¼┬Ø Sally said. Josh shrugged and scratched Sally's ears. Sally snuggled closer to Josh. Then she started wondering if he knew exactly what scratching the ears was too a werewolf.

They arrived at her apartment. ├óÔé¼┼ôThe offer is still open├óÔé¼┬Ø Sally said. ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm fine├óÔé¼┬Ø Josh said, waving her good by. Sally smiled sadly and turned back to her apartment. She walked into her room and wondered why Josh was so incredibly thick. Josh walked to his house, always glad to enjoy a warm summers night. Then he realized he had left his hat at Danny's place. By now it would be easier to go home and get a new hat, but. Josh hated leaving his hat, any hat, behind. Josh stood, held by indecision. Should he get his hat, or not?

Sally looked out her window. Josh was standing outside of her apartment, looking over his shoulder. She felt a flurry of hope. Then Josh turned away and walked back to his house. Sally sighed and turned back to her bed. ├óÔé¼┼ôIts just a human├óÔé¼┬Ø She muttered. Josh got to his house and opened the door ├óÔé¼┼ôIts just a hat├óÔé¼┬Ø he muttered before opening the door. He stepped into his house even as the moon was covered by the clouds. He plopped down on his bed and went to sleep.

├óÔé¼┼ôSo├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said ├óÔé¼┼ôThis is a television?├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôYeah├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said ├óÔé¼┼ôIt's basically a moving picture, with sounds. It will show you a verity of things, depending on witch channel you turn it too├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôChannel?├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôI'll show you├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said, turning on the T.V. The T.V started to blare cheesy, electronically unsynthesized music as two nude people kissed and fondled each other. Tim's eyebrows shot up, and Ginger changed the channel, ears burning. ├óÔé¼┼ôCan't account for some peoples taste├óÔé¼┬Ø She muttered.

She switched the channel to the news station ├óÔé¼┼ôThese guys'll tell you what's going on in the world├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said ├óÔé¼┼ôNow I need to go to the police station and get debriefed├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôRight├óÔé¼┬Ø Tim said, watching the flicking set with the same rapt attention that he paid to everything that Ginger told him. Ginger walked out of the room, sure he would be fine for the time being. She shut the door and walked to the stairs.

├óÔé¼┼ôSo├óÔé¼┬Ø The Chief said ├óÔé¼┼ôYou and your team entered the Blackhorse estate├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger nodded, feeling more nervous then ever. ├óÔé¼┼ôThen you were surrounded by the zombie's├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôYes├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said, not wanting to remember what had happened. ├óÔé¼┼ôThen what happened?├óÔé¼┬Ø The Chief asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôThe...The z-zombies attacked├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said ├óÔé¼┼ôI saw our photographer and some of our team taken down by the zombies├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger rubbed her nose ├óÔé¼┼ôAnd then I retreated backwards into a bathroom. Then I managed to wriggle out of the window and climbed along the roof├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôThen you met this vampire, a Lord Timothy Alfred Blackhorse├óÔé¼┬Ø The chief said ├óÔé¼┼ôAnd you let him out of a coffin that seemed to be quite cleverly concealed├óÔé¼┬Ø.

├óÔé¼┼ôB-But├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger stammered ├óÔé¼┼ôI...It was an accident!├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôYeah├óÔé¼┬Ø The chief said, sounding completely unconvinced ├óÔé¼┼ôNow├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôWe need to discuss your...work├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger nodded. ├óÔé¼┼ôIn relation to your...disability├óÔé¼┬Ø The chief continued. Ginger felt a flush in her cheeks ├óÔé¼┼ôBut├óÔé¼┬Ø she said ├óÔé¼┼ôYou can't fire me because I'm a vampire!├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôNo├óÔé¼┬Ø The Chief said ├óÔé¼┼ôBut You can only take the night shifts. Now this means that you might not be eligible for the back up Z.E.T we are putting together├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger stiffened, wanting to shout back at him that most Zombie attacks were at night. But she backed down. ├óÔé¼┼ôSo├óÔé¼┬Ø The chief said ├óÔé¼┼ôWe'll shift you to the vampire team├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôYou mean Martha and Greg?├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger asked.

The chief nodded ├óÔé¼┼ôRight├óÔé¼┬Ø he said ├óÔé¼┼ôReport in about three days from now. We want you to acclimate to your...disability├óÔé¼┬Ø. Ginger bristled, her fangs extending slightly. She wanted to reach over and bite into this pompous man. Then she shook her self, feeling very disquieted. ├óÔé¼┼ôGood night├óÔé¼┬Ø She said, rising. ├óÔé¼┼ôGet well soon├óÔé¼┬Ø The chief said. Ginger grumbled and walked out of the room. She walked into the nearest bathroom and splashed cool water on her face.

She looked at herself in the mirror as another woman walked into the bathroom. She walked up to the mirror next to Ginger and started to powder her nose. ├óÔé¼┼ôSo├óÔé¼┬Ø she said ├óÔé¼┼ôWhat are you here for?├óÔé¼┬Ø then she looked at Ginger and saw the red eyes. ├óÔé¼┼ôOh├óÔé¼┬Ø She said, moving away slightly. Ginger sighed and walked out of the bathroom. Ginger walked out of the police department, feeling the warm night air. She breathed deep and looked around. Everything seemed brighter and more intense then when she had been alive.

Ginger decided to forgo a taxi and walked home. Or more accurately the motel she was staying at. She'd have to move her coffin there. Then the realization that she was sleeping during the day, in a coffin hit her and she stopped in front of an ally. ├óÔé¼┼ôHey!├óÔé¼┬Ø A voice called out ├óÔé¼┼ôGirl! You looking for nice time?├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôNo├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said. A face leered at her out of the ally. ├óÔé¼┼ôAre you sure?├óÔé¼┬Ø He asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôYes├óÔé¼┬Ø Ginger said. The man walked out of the ally, still smiling. ├óÔé¼┼ôAre you sure?├óÔé¼┬Ø he asked again, reaching for Ginger. Ginger, irritated beyond belief, grabbed the hand and jerked the man forward. It was a simple move she had learned while training for the police.

The man, rather then being tripped up, flew forward. Ginger stepped aside and the man skidded along the mostly empty street and came to a stop, cradling his hand. ├óÔé¼┼ôYou bitch!├óÔé¼┬Ø he gasped, holding his wrist. It was plainly broken. Ginger looked at him. Then turned away and walked back home, but with a new spring in her step. She got to the motel and walked into the place. She flexed her arms and wondered at the new strength in them. ├óÔé¼┼ôHey, lady├óÔé¼┬Ø the night clerk said ├óÔé¼┼ôYour friend needs to turn down the T.V. He's bothering some of my clients├óÔé¼┬Ø.
