New water flashes...

Post by Buggi »

I'm not sure what's going on. I updated my NVidia drivers to the latest version and when I use the dynamic water (which is freaking sweet btw) the screen flashes white occasionally. It's enough to give you a siezure!

I have a 6800 GT video card.

Anyone else have this problem?

Dynamic water doesn't work for me so I can not confirm this...

Buggi - are you overclocking the card at all?
If so, that's a key reason.

And the latest Nvidia drivers dont work well with spring. I get 12 FPS when i use them, a steady 200 when using 84.something..

I have a 6800 Ultra and the same problem with dynamic water. I've posted in a number of threads, but no one's said how to fix this. It is too bad, because the card should be able to run dynamic water with good fps if it didn't flash like that.

Are you runnign the v91 nvidia drivers? I've just ran a few benchmarks on my geforce5200 ultra and gotten bad results, e.g. 4 fps on generating random pixels.

They seem to fair alright, better than 91.xx drivers.

The latest omega drivers are absed on the 66.63 drivers though IIRC

Anyone have any idea about the flashing with dynamic water? I'm using the 84.21 drivers for my 6800 Ultra. Was going to update to the latest, but it seems that isn't a good idea.

With the older drivers I had almost 0 FPS with dynamic water. Then again the drivers were 77.7x something.

Can SJ post what driver version he's up to?
