I understand that for one reason or another you are very displeased with windows 98, but what I find odd and think can easily be fixed is that something as simple as the shift key not working is not something that someone would concider a big task to fix.
I can understand the whole game not running at all on windows 98. But the game runs perfectely on my windows 98. In fact, I even managed to trick some so called windows xp only compatible programs to install on windows and it had absolutely no problems with them at all.
I would just like to point out that a simple key support for windows 98 users has been taken off, and ask that the developers (I am not a developer myself so I do not know how hard something like this is to fix) fix this, from my perspective, simple problem so that we may all have a positive gameplay experience as well as fair game experience.

lets hope that the responsible developer is not brainwashed by microsoft (like AFultrasonicsite wrote:I would just like to point out that a simple key support for windows 98 users has been taken off, and ask that the developers (I am not a developer myself so I do not know how hard something like this is to fix) fix this, from my perspective, simple problem so that we may all have a positive gameplay experience as well as fair game experience.

BTW, have you ever played Doom 3 on win98? It is not supported by id, but there is an patch that makes it playable. And guess how many bytes it patches? Yes, only one byte. [irony] Lets thank id and build a temple for bill.[/irony]

Yes, allowing the shift key to be changed could also be a solution.the_duke wrote:lets hope that the responsible developer is not brainwashed by microsoft (like AFultrasonicsite wrote:I would just like to point out that a simple key support for windows 98 users has been taken off, and ask that the developers (I am not a developer myself so I do not know how hard something like this is to fix) fix this, from my perspective, simple problem so that we may all have a positive gameplay experience as well as fair game experience.). I think it is a 5 minute job for a experienced programmer to add "shift-support", maybe by allowing the user to bind the "shift-functionality" to another key.
