Two request for TASClient

I have two (simple) requests for the lobby client:
  • That in the battle window it is indicated if a player hasn't got the map.
  • That the away status of a player is indicated in the battle window.

First one has been in the mantis forever already. Betalord has it set as awknoledged.

Good idea for the second one.

Or how about making it unpossible to go "ready" if you don't have the map?

someone mentioned this before... the problem was, what if someone who didn't know that you couldn't ready without the map didn't have the map and tried to be ready? then the forums would be filled with people going "OMFG t3h tasclient dont workzz!! I am teh levz0r!", etc.

anyway, the point was that it would cause more problems than it would fix

A simple popup

"You can't ready up because you don't have the map. Click here (link) to get it"

would suffice I think.

That the away status of a player is indicated in the battle window.
This one is already done in the battle window. When a player goes away, their name turns grey. When they are ingame, it is blue.

Both away status and popup when attempting to rdy up without the map are already in altaclient.
(for those who doesn't know it: http://taspring.clan-sy.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=3429)

It would be nice if they were in regular client as well.

FYI the first post was made before the 0.72b1 release. The 0.24 client didn't have the away status in the battle window, the 0.25 (which comes with the 0.72b1 release) does.

Is it possible for it to chech to see if you have the map first,
before you join a game. It does it for mods ... shouldn't it
be the same way fot maps.

The map appears in red in the game list if you don't already have it.

What I mean is it shouldn't let you join until you have the map.
No map ... can't join the game ...

That's sort of harsh, eh? I know there are those lucky soles with connection plenty fast to download a map while the host sets up teams, ect. I know when hosting I've always waiting for people to download, and it's never taken > 3 minutes.

I think the orriginal suggestion is valid... just make it so that the host can't start a game (aside from forcing) unless everyone has the map... and have a display (for the host) where it shows who has/doesn't have the map.

Someone already mentioned this - "You don't have the map. Click here to download" dialogue box!
