Well, in TA the crate sorta splits in half and then closes on the gundam, sorta like the Boat trapnsport in OTA.

What's with the shadow?

The unit looks increadibly well done. I hope this proves that UV maps can be just as effective as per face texturing :P

Looks fantastic.

Shadow does seem off though I must agree, does it still have a 3do baseplate? Perhaps it is just the angle.

Looks great, however, one suggestion: I think it just needs to be *sharper* in terms of its lines. The lines all look a little grey and fuzzy; maybe they could be solid thinner black?

Neat unit, in terms of how its made. Its also good looking (not that I can tell the difference between UV mapped and by the face textured)

Nice model ^^
i think the shadow is cast like that because the sun is very high in the sky on that map

Bear in mind that texture resolution is probably quite limited. Is it a mipmapped dds?

Well done! There's absolutly nothing I can complain about on this model! And it looks nice.

I think I particularly like the clearly defined colours, it makes it easier on the eye than pseudo-realistic-messy-camo-everywhere, as it helps revealing what the shapes are in a single glance.

True, after uv mapped i found even the crispiest map being a bit blurry.... probably due to point-by-point stretching (that is what uv engine do).

It seems Spring tends to disregard the actual texture of the unit, and uses the first mipmap instead, which is a quarter of it. I think I noticed it since the first time s3o was introduced. That, or it's because of some strange texture smoothing routines.

No, it doesn't. UpSpring does, but not the Spring engine. The units for NanoBlobs are all quite crisp, and are only blurry in places due to being shrunk from their original resolutions.

although I'm not a fan of gundam at all, that model does look pretty nice! Your models are all very nicely done.

EDIT: by gundam I do not mean your mod, I mean gundams as a whole, as in the incredibly stupid gundam TV shows

Rather low res texture, isn't it? My textures suck ass, so don't start - but yours could stand to be a fair bit sharper. Whatever res that is, do another one in ^2 size. You've got lots of video memory to play with when you use DDS, as I understand it.
