So I can play them again later when I have to go out.

either the F7 or F8 key (I think it is F8) will save your game. Your screen will flash black and say 'saving game' or something like that while it is saving. When you want to go back to it, load it up through Spring.exe, the choice of "Load Test.ssf" should be available. Choose it.

Okay, no problem saving but I had trouble loading. After I tried loading it in spring.exe I had to press "return" and then the game crashed and prompted me to send an error message.

that's weird. What were you playing, exactly? using one of the scripts, or an AI? I'm not sure that I can help you here though.
