Lego map...

Ok, this started as a joke but FANG had to see it! So, I made a GIANT lego map.... yeah.

it is not much more then that but I did find it interesting. One of the things I did not expect was that it actually played well. I was pretty interesting when we realized that because the studs(cylinders on top of legos) were making it possible for units to travel pretty easily around a base. Especially with defensive structures and radar towers on the highground a sort of trench warfare started.

Anyway. here is so so... yeah.

I think the reason why this map would be so succesful is that the design is almost urban in nature. This map is urban in the same way as Pincushion is urban. Though city maps aren't really possible in Spring (partly because of a lack of manpower to create the city features, and partly because of engine limitations), the urban combat one would expect can be mimicked in maps like this.

Great! Im am not surprised it plays well! If you like a lego map, maybe you should make the colors and atmosphere more lego-like.

What's the size? 24x24? larger?

I like the look, if a brighter version was made with different textures for non-lego purposes and stoney and grene textures and aa nice big blue sky alongside the usual red/blue/yellow legoland brick version...

Well its a Citymap- disguised as Lego

Upload a Replay of the Match, want to see the Trench Warfare! Great Idea...
a Legomod would be cool, if you could build new stones and transform the Terrain that way - with same Units as in AA or so...

The replay is on the earlier version... and it doesn't exist anymore.

However, you can make a replay. remember that walls are teh pwn on this map and that the taller buildings give better sight/radar coverage.

Suggestions:

- Brighter colors
- Make borders around every 8x2 brick. So it looks like they're real!
- Taller terrain should have the textures which makes it look like it's different colored bricks on other bricks
- "Blocko" logo :D

And why's there water in the borders?
This map could become on of the funniest ones :)

I can see about it later..

As far as textures on the side of the blocks.. I cannot do anything about it on a sheer surface. that is how terrain maping works.

If I see a lot of people using this map I will update it but I have moved on so it would take people using this map to motivate me.

I think he ment the lines between blocks, not on the rises. Just a dark line going between the relevant studs would work, mabey even a slight depression in the terrain.

I get you. I did something like that on the middle block.
