Need some input...

Post by aGorm »

OK, so I was thinking of redoing one of my old maps. Note... Redo, not remake, the difference being it wont play the same atall, just be on the genral theam.

Acid Bridge Redux

Basicly, I like this idea alot, but i sorly need to re-do, and re-think how it works.

1) It has to be smaller... At the time, I wanted to see if I could make a big long map, but realy its TOO big. Its just a pork fest. SO, any suggestions of roughtly how big people think it should be?

2) Bridge will be higher... this way hovers ect... cant just go all over the map, they have to go around the outside, or across the middel, not wereever they please...

3) Was gonna make it far more industrialy, more like two facilitys joined but a half ground half constructed bridge. But still with the cool crystal things ect... (but new better models...)

Anyway, is there anything else people would like to seee on it? Maybe other faults on teh first one that I havnt noticed (cause i dont play spring enought to pick them all up.....)

Or, ofcourse voice if u think its a crap idea and like it as it was...

I know its not your map, but if you remade the spring port of The Pass without all the stuff on the sides, and with two patches per side and one in the middle, that would be amazing.

Of your maps, Desert Dunes is one of my favorites, but damn its bright. Perhaps lessen the blinding brightness a touch and LOWER THE METAL. Desert dunes is a fantastic map, but gah, its got waaay too much metal to be playable. I mean, 1/4th or 1/5th of the current metal would be just about right.

i agree that it needs to be smaller, also i think it could do with less metal as both times that i have played on it it was insanely easy to get metal, mabye put some more metal along the bridge itself to make it even more of a focal point. also if the harness of the map could be made significantly larger, i had problems both times i played on it with nukes actually severing the bridge making it pretty much a stalemate until we called a truce for a bit to repair it. mabye some small metal rich islands?

Smaller would mean that there would be less metal as tehers less area to get it from... (allso it was more ment for 2 teams than 2 players, so there was more metal...)

::EDIT:: however, that said, yes, it will therfor have less metal! And good shout on the harder terrain...

turns out i was playing the real old version of this, v3 is fine for metal. i did however have fun with large lines o nuke mines across the bridge though

was just having a fun game with a mate, should have heard his reaction when all of a sudden there was a huge bang as one of the fleas he was using to scout for mines tripped the line and blew a moat straight across the middle of the bridge :D
