Crash upon production of ARM zipper in XTA 0.66 SE

Post by colorblind »

It's what the title says; a clean isntall of 0.70b1 crashes everytime when I try to build an XTA 0.66 SE arm zipper. Annoying!

Ropost from the news thread:
The devs switched to a diffierent TDF parser. The old one was more forgiving of mistakes. The zipper FBI has a typo in it. That is what causes the bug. The best way to get this fixed would be to convince the devs to release a XTA 0.67 SE that doesn't have this bug.
I there a way to link the a spific post in a thread?

i think a more straight forward solution is to play xta pimped since it has no balance changes over xta se 0.66.
only unit graphical definitions have been changed.

That little white paper beside where it says "posted such and such a time and date" is a literal link to the specific post.

Its because of this line in the ARMFAST.fbi (Zipper unit file):

Code: Select all

	noautofire=0;
	sightdistance=330;
	/180     <---- THIS LINE
	radardistance=0;
	soundcategory=ARM_KBOT;
I posted this a few months ago (didnt crash the game then but it was still there), yet no one fixed it...

The new release (0.70b2) no longer crashes, probably due to the less strict TDF parser. Still, it might be a good idea to remove the typo from XTA 0.66 SE ...
