First try deleting all your old old mods. Any mod that has a UFO file in it will cause spring to spit exception errors. Second try clean installing. Back up your maps and remaining mods and delete everything spring related. Also there are some registry entries for spring as well, a few people have found that deleting those has helped, but wait until someone who knows what they're talking about posts, because you can do damage to your comp if you play with registry setting without knowing what you're looking for. If both those don't work then I'm stumped.

My computer is quite fresh as i have just reinstalled my OS and everything due to this problem somehow deleting my modem driver and making my computer think that there is no modem this has happened 3 times with Spring so far.

i will try these thins but i am going to disconnect so i don't lose my internet for the 4th time

Edit: :!: BUG FOUND :!:

as far as i can tell:

when spring loads it 'tries' to load all the maps or find them for the list and when it dose this if there are a lot of new maps if freaks out at start up and eventually (times out?) and crashes

A way around:

toss one map in the folder so it will start then go to battle screen and toss in a few maps and hit "reload list" and repeat it doesnt seem to be a problem when i start after they are loaded at the battle screen

this dumb bug killed my computers modem and made me be offline for 20 hrs  grrr

well ill be off adding maps oh so slowly now

"External exception" raised in TASClient are due to exceptions raised in Unitsync.dll. It seems new tdf parser is more strict and crashes with certain maps/mods, but Fnordia should know more about it. Should be fixed with next update though.

I had this exact problem....I fixed it by deleting an old TA .ufo map file that somehow got in the maps folder.
