How do I select my side

Post by Torq »

Can anyone tell me how I can select ARM in the multiplayer game. The thought of playing Core whenever I am second to join the game fills me with horror.

There is a little drop down box. With Side written next to it. With your current race in it. Its quite hard to miss...

Plus, I think that everyone is set to ARM when they join. You have to manually change it later.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm a bit stupid. Is the dropdown box within the game itself? ie once the game is underway, or in the bttle room?

Someone with more technical knowledge will correct me, but I belive you run LAN through client by setting a custom server to a LAN adress rather then calling the spring main server. There are some LAN server config files somewhere isn't there?

To run a LAN server, you would want to download and run the Lobby Server from the Downloads page. You need to have the Java Runtime files installed for it to work. Run that using the .bat file found in the downloads, and then you connect to 'localhost', and everyone else connects to your IP address. What server to connect to can be chosen in the "Options" panel in the Client.

Im pretty sure this is how you do it, but ive never done it myself, so I might be wrong. Alternativley, if this doesnt work, try the Spring on a LAN page in the wiki.
