I think you are trying to set a cookie after you have already sent HTML data to the browser. Dont ask why, but apparently you cannot do that.

Thats a limitation in PHP, not in the FU script.

Should work fine in Firefox and IE. Dunno about Netscape/Opera/other browsers, but they should work fine as well. However, by the looks of it, Storm had to brutally tear the page appart to get it working properly with all his PHP scripts.

The original Monthly Topic Rotation!! :P

Like Mael said, it's not under our control. If we could raise it, we certainly would.

Also, why should people conform to an earlier standard, when a new one is out? Firefox is w3c compliant, so if there was a major change in the way FF renders pages, then their was either a bug in an eariler version, or a new set of standards were released.

Using FF 1.5 Dutch, I get:

The page renders correctly, till at the end this huge block covers most of it. ^^

EDIT: W3C Validator

V3C validator can't spot a single error on the page, so I don't have a fricking clue on how to handle that shit. Maelstroms code is clean and everything looks fine in both my FF and IE. I can make a cookied choice to just permanently shut off the page footer for those that are bothered with it.

Note:
My code that I sent Storm worked fine. Then Storm got his hands on it. He chopped it up, shoved it into the FU code, and hoped it worked. Unfortunetley, it didnt. So the problem could well be a problem with the HTML.

Other Note:
I am currently trawling through the FileUniverse code (i downloaded a local copy so that FU didnt die in the process), and am cleaning everything up so that the site works. There was so many errors in there its not funny. Its probably about 20% done, as I have cleaned up the index page. Now I need to go through and clean up all the OTHER pages. That will take a while. But when I am finished EVERY page on FU should be w3c compliant. Hopefully.

Idea: Create a pseduo-public FTP account to a /dump/ folder. If someoen wants to upload a file, you guys give them the pass/username to upload to there, then change the pass when they're done, and then just cut+paste the files to the proper folder. That way, instead of MapMaker->Storm/Gnome -> FU, its just MapMaker -> FU, and then it saves some time and bandwidth for everbody ^_^
