I've had some free time over the weekend
So, I decided to add some features to some of my
older maps I've made. I figure I start with Crystal
harbor. The map needs crystals .... IMO ...
So, Here are some screenies ....
The last time somebody posted a crystal map, I complained that we couldnt change the texture spring applies to the map close up, and yeha changed it bya dding a new tag.
Please follow suite with this, dont let the engine place the default dirt and ground texture on a crystal map when you should be using your own custom shiny texture. It's as simple as make a grey coloured bitmap and add a tag in the smd.
EDIT:: Make the lighting somewhat bluer too, but not purple, just a hint of red tho.
I liked every single crystal shown. I just would prefer it to not have the first ones because they are very similar to the ground texture making them less easy to distinguish.
When you made the crystals more blueish, ti should ahve worked, btu you made them too colourful, they amde the rest fo the map look duller and plainer.
The second few sets fo crystals where worse ebcause they went against the whole point of there being crystals inthe first palce. The entire planet is amde of crystal, thats why it's called the crystal tileset, and thus you should treat the ground as if ti needs to be mroe crystaline like the features rather than thinking the onyl crystals there are are the features, hence why crsytal maps in spring dotn look as good as in OTA because you see crystals ont he ground yet they're supposed to be sharp or ledge like and they're all rounded, sometimes they're just curved like other maps as if the mapper hasnt noticed there're crystal outcrops there at all.
