Mice
I currently possess an ancient Logitech MX Revolution and a Razor Copperhead wired mouse, only said mouse has an issue with the wire and is disconnecting randomly every half hour or so requiring me to unplug the USB connector and re-insert
However I've not kept track of PC Mice for years, what's currently considered the state of the art? Which companies tend to do well? I saw the revolutions replacement was wireless with a micro-usb port for charging/wired use, did that catch on elsewhere?

Re: Mice
I recommend the Razor Ouroboros, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6826153128
It's pricey but very comfy. I have to use mice like this otherwise I get fairly bad cramps in the back of my hand.
For the shape and much cheaper you can get a Rat 3, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6826618009 , but get a warranty, because you will be switching them out every 2 to 3 months like clockwork. I went through 6 before I got sick of it and bought the Ouroboros.
Regardless of what you get, I highly recommend a fully programmable one and one where you can set the dpi based upon buttons on the mouse. It's a GODSEND, especially when using photoshop.

Re: Mice
For the past 5-10 years (not sure on the exact time anymore), I have owned mx 510, mx 518 and now G400 and I've never used a better mouse (they are all pretty much one model). These just work for me.
Also wired ftw, used some wireless ones and they are just not on par, way too small and imprecise!

Re: Mice
The copperhead has DPI buttons, which is great, though I click by accident sometimes
I was looking at the g400 here. Though there's a g500 too, is that its successor or a different model? What about stuff like the Mad-Catz-M-M-O-7? I've never known anyone with a Mad Catz mouse

Re: Mice
Don't buy Logitech. This is 10 years old info but once a crook, always a crook. They insist on displaying a popup message when the battery in my cordless mouse is low. I contacted and told them I want to disable that popup. They told me it's not possible to disable that message, but when battery is low I should replace it. Such an arrogant company.
Usually you can tell if the battery is low by the fact that the mouse isn't wroking anymore.

Re: Mice
I still have a Logitech mouse, mainly because they have many buttons but are still considerably more affordable than Razor and the likes.
I had no problem with the driver, it did the job (programmable buttons, etc...) while still staying discreet, but then I take all my devices with wire attached.

Re: Mice
Yes, probably. But I was also annoyed by their attitude. It's my decision if I put new batteries in my mouse or not. I don't need to have a second mother who keeps saying things like this.yuritch wrote:Probably in the past someone complained that mouse stopped working without any apparent reason, so they added this popup. That's how many annoying features get into software.

Re: Mice
Are those scary-looking angular mice with loose panels and included screwdrivers really that good?
I've fondled one and didn't like it much (but maybe it was mistuned somehow); it felt huge, heavy and distasteful (especially with the screwdriver compartment), so i kept using what i was using before because minimalizm'n'shit.
