What are you talking about? Not the enhanced models I hope.

Some of us don't find them all that "enhanced" anyway...

In any case, they were ported about 30 seconds after Spring was released. They're just 3dos, it's not hard to do, it's just that each player in a game has to be using them or else you get sync errors.

And they're already in AA. Except a couple, which suck. Like the Flash.

Big agreement there. The only ones I really liked were the Arm Comm, Peewee, and Mav... but oh well.

Yes the core comm is also hideous, I made my own. The brawler is also a pretty nice improvement, you can see its guns. Oh and the artillery and krogoth... and bulldogs and goliaths and FAVs. The rest are really too small to notice, which is something to say since there's like 80 new models or something.

What's so great about them? Almost all appear to be kitbashes of existing Cavedog units.

Yes, but it's been coyly hidden in the "Spring > Mods" directory of FileUniverse. Gnome, that deceptive bastard.

Why TAAN? TAAN is not the only unit group around. There hundreds others TA sites full of unit, why specifically TAAN?
(Ok, I know, because I uploaded all bug-like units from TAAN from FU, just to show someone the monkeylord isn't the only arachnide-like TA unit, and then some FU admin moved it to Spring > Mods. My bad, I should have sorted it myself, to some darkpit, instead of letting it sit in public. I'd move it away, but FU and all the Universes are down atm.)

There's no need to "port to Spring" TA units. For most units, just click the donwload link, dump the .ufo into /Spring/ instead of /TotalA/, et voilà, the unit is now turned into a Spring unit! Ok, sometimes there are custom texture, and then you need to use hpiview and gafdump, so ok, complete newb can't do it anymore (but they can just play with missing textures) but it's something done in a couple seconds for anyone with the right tools and knowing what to do. Ok, sometimes there are menu conflict with XTA, but bah, it's not like there weren't any menu conflict ever in old TA. Ok sometimes there are script or weapon tdf interpreted differently, and that is harder to fix, but it happens so rarely you usually needs to port a full mod to have a few units not working right because of that. But most of the time a TA unit will work right away in Spring.(Oh, and some of the things I fixed for those TAAN units were things that would have broken them in old TA too, like half of them had the same unitname.)
