Spring crashes on zooming in and out. Mac OsX

Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB
Software OS X 10.8.4 (12E55)

I bought this second hand computer a few weeks ago, and spring keeps crashing randomly.

It always seems to be when I am zooming in or out. Some times a game will last 30 minutes before it crashes other times it will crash after only a few minutes in game. I have reproduced the bug about 30 times in the last few days. But I cannot isolate why does not crash every time i zoom in or out, or if there is anything different the times it does crash.

Im not sure if it could be to do with the computer overheating, as know this often causes crashes on mac, but i have set all the fans on max and kept it cool and it still crashes.

I have tried high and minimal graphics setting and it does not seem to affect it in any way.

is CompressTextures set to 1? if not this maybe helps...

Thanks but that does not seem to help it.

I just set CompressTextures = 1

it just crashed again.

The Error Dialoge box says:

Spring has crashed:
Abort trap: 6 (SIGABRT).

A stack trace has been written to infolog

Still crashing every game I play.

Normally within 10 minutes. Some times within 30 seconds some times it lasts 30 mins
