Uniform game speed increase

Post by Caydr »

Hi, anyone else here (you must be an Total Annihilation gamer or ex-gamer) notice that Spring runs about 10 or 15 percent slower than it should? I'd be all for setting the current 1.1 or 1.15 or so as the 1.0 speed in a future version.

I think you'd have to do that with the unit speeds... when you just up the refresh rates (+ and - keys) spring speeds up it's tickrate, and causes major lag for all the players who can't keep up with the back and forth data.

If you increase unit speed, the laser/missile speed become to low and will miss them.

I would prefer if the game were a bit quicker.
(iirc I've once made a post where I said I prefer playing with 1.5 speed)

I know, but I'm just suggesting a 10% increase. OTA players manage it 8)

No.

I think the problem is different - I think the maps are all much larger, and all the units are longer ranged, so that in the end the units seem to move painfully slowly.
