Use 7-zip to open up Spring's archives. In one of the folders (I forget which, I think it's a subdirectory of Base) there is an SDZ or SD7 archive (both 7-zip files) which contains the loading screens Spring uses.

To override these place the directory structure bitmaps/loadingscreens (or loadpics or something, again can't remember exactly which) into your mod with the images you want. Yes, this works with XTA too in single-player.

These images should be in Jpeg format, the same format Spring uses to take screenshots.

Spring will load an image at random. Cool eh?

To add to the images either place the originals in your mod directory and add to them, or add your pics to the originals.

Boom! Custom loadpics.

Now go take some pretty screenshots. F9 to hide damage bars, middle mouse button or J to give you a crosshair, F5 to hide the GUI. Once positioned go into normal cursor mode to hide the crosshair - the other cursor type is invisible.

Have fun.

Look at one of the other mods. UberHack has custom load screens, and I think AA does as well. Just do the same for whatever mod your using as they do for those mods.

Don't use the images from the OTA version of FF. They're low res and low color depth, and will look very nasty. Plus they're geared for the TA way of loading. Just go play the game a little and take some spiffy screenshots.
