I was a little shocked.

There's a four page thread on the subject... though admittedly it got a little derailed. Generally it's because people were using proxies and VPN to circumvent IP bans, I'm not the one who does it but I understand getting an exception is pretty trivial, it's just a level of obfuscation to prevent people from abusing the system. Nothing against proxies or VPNs specifically.

There should perhaps be a sticky about spring and using vpn/proxies to connect. so people who need the exception will not be kicked on first JOINING the spring community
