TA: Kingdoms Mod

Greeting from http://www.kingdoms-rx.com the biggest TA: Kingdoms Community.

The RX Clan from TA: Kingdoms is making a mod to run TA: Kingdoms Units on Spring.

We working on the first Race: Aramon.

My question is when would it be Spring to be able to run more than 2 races on the client? hope by the time we finish the 5 races it will be done :wink:

Screenshots of the pain in the neck conversion will be posted very soon and a working version of the Aramon first units will be posted very soon so the people interested could help us convert more units so we can finish faster.

This is great news! But I thought that TA:K scripting was far more sophisticated/powerful than OTA. How are you converting it?

Spring supports bunches of races, however TASClient only supports two, so go bug Betalord about it.

Spring should be able to handle most of what Kingdoms can do. However, Kingdoms scripts don't play well with Spring, they would need to be rebuild almost from scratch.

I started doing it myself at one point, and all of aramon is (in theory) converted. Most of it doesn't really work because of the script stuff, but yeah...

Anyway, you can pester me on AIM or MSN or IRC or something if you want the file. I don't have much use for it, I have other projects that need attention.

If i'm not mistaken, that feature has been continously postponed because there was never a real need to have it. If it becomes needed, it is probable it will be implemented moderatly soon.

TA: K was pretty poor, although the story was a helluva lot of fun. if u could make missions using the LUA script (alike the missions in TA: K but with say a extra peasant or different names and such) that would be awesome :)

As soon as this is implemented properly (thus proving that a TA:K - TA:S conversion is possible) I'm going to see if I can have permission to convert the LotR mod over.

And maybe some of the 3rd party races too.

alantai just pushes right buttons but in wrong time :-) he probably just types too fast so he dont have time to look at monitor :wink:

I ahve an hour and a half each day.

In that hour I visit this foruma dn post as quickly as I can, I write lots of emails, I upload files, check sites, downlaod thigns, and I havent enought ime, so when I do type it is very fast and I make ltos of mistakes and I dotn have the time to go voer and correct them.

I think that conveying an idea is mroe important than punctuationa dn fi soemthign si important enough i type it on ym own comptuer before I go online.

I actually though TA:K was lacking in explosions, and the units werent filled with pizzaaz, like TA's were. So make sure the units LOOK COOL!

I always liked playing Zhon too, a wave of Harpies with their insta-capture really made for a nice round up force against any of the other races. It also let me end game with tech from any race that I could get my Harpies on. Heh.. Also Rock Giants are nifty, but they're basically just a capult/balista/what-have-you equivalant.

My freind would always paly as Taros and spam zombies. So i'd play ameron and spam missle towers. We got along fine. His zeds would attack. I would kill them enmass. We would engoy the mindless death for about an hour, then whatch TV.
