Just watched twilight...

Post by smoth »

Oh wow, like as crappy as a made for TV movie with a plot lacking ANY character depth and stewart was about as emotional as an autistic child in a hug box... SAD FACE: :| ANGRY FACE: :| SHOCKED FACE: :| PHYSICAL PAIN: :|

WOW, just wow.

I thought MAYBE people were being dicks or maybe it would be as dumb as harry potter. Nah bruh, hunger games is like a masterpiece compared to this. No wonder all the twihards were wet for hunger games.

Seriously, I have seen better stuff in scifi originals.

you watched all of it?
it's probably not considered rape, but forcing someone to watch stuff, especially if horrific as twilight is a crime of some sort, you should report people that made you endure it to the local authorities
as i had the ability to control the media player, i managed to turn it off before it would do too much harm, i would even say i enjoyed "Planet 9 from Outer Space" in comparison

An unoriginal mediocre love triangle story instead of a horrible cliche love triangle fan-fiction?

I read "Just watched tonight..." three times in a row because my mind could not process what was on my screen.

How could you subject yourself to this?

The Hunger Games (the first one) was actually a very good book... and I read the other two just to finish out the story... they weren't as good as the first but they were OK...

I also read (and have seen) all the twilights mostly because I have a wife who is really into terrible supernatural YA... The part Stewart is playing is supposed to be emotionally unavailable... their isn't much meat in them but if it's at least interesting if you realize that Bella is a self-destructive depressive with a literal death-wish who moves from attempted suicide to attempted suicide before finally checking out of the human race... I really hope no-one sees her as a role model but she was an interesting character (well, not literally interesting but like, from, an academic "It's interesting someone wrote a book with such a horribly flawed protagonist" type perspective).

Ok, to be fair, I have neither read the hunger games nor watched the movies. But the basic premise and mythos seems awkward and unoriginal, and no one has given me a coherent or compelling analysis as to what makes them good.

(I might be a pretentious literature hipster though)

@smoth. Your problem is you're not a teenage girl with a fetish for brooding, possibly-homosexual boyfriends with deep emotional issues. It also helps that he's older and apparently quite wealthy and educated despite not having a job or ever turning up to school. Twilight is a tween wet-dream for wannabee goths (no real goth would ever watch it).

You need to watch something truly dark to balance out all that faux-dark. I'd recommend The Dead or The Horde because there's absolutely nothing fluffy about zombies.

protagonists with personality flaws are a standard, and have existed in literature since its' inception. there is nothing interesting or inventive or new about including one in a story (unless you only read other young-adult fiction like "the hunger games" or nancy drew)

Hey... like 5 of those pixels are NSFW... if you are under 18 make sure you blink right after you see them in bed together.

Oh it's known outside of France? Cool! Good punchy movie, but still a small film with low budget. Also, it's so world apart from Twilight mentionning it here looks totally out of place.

As for brooding vampire goth wannabe oh-so-pretty-darkness and death movie with a self-destructive main character, I liked Twixt. Wading in cliché at every frame, but I enjoyed.

When the first twilight movie came out, I watched it. I didn't know about the books, or this little tween following. I just thought it was another vampire movie. Watched it, thought it was overall mediocre.

As a result, when the next one came out I thought "They're really trying to milk this vamipre thing again?"

After that I became aware of the following and etc.

True Blood basically killed anything vampesque. That show is just painful to watch and is the reason that 99% of any new vamp movies are going to fail outright.

True Blood is the only vampire themed media to be worth watching since Joss Whedon's work.

I'm sorry that it offends your southern sensibilities.

Oh, just for the record... I've also read like 8 of the Southern Vampire novels (on which the show True Blood is loosely based) and they are much better then the TV shows.
