An autohost thank you to Licho

Post by Forboding Angel »

Just wanted to say thank you for making it so that the autohosts can deal with different versions of spring! :-)

I accidentally pushed spring 86 to my desura people and played some games today and had no problem. I didn't even know it was 86 till I saw the loading screen and thought "oh shit", but it was butter smooth! Thank you! That solves soooo many problems for me =D

You can change engine version using !setengine or it can be set to host latest versions of given git branch of engine.

People must have changed it to 86 i guess :)

Sure, that will work :)

Made your [Evo]Forboding_Angel account admin for springies.

You can also set it to use dev builds with those fgc235 versions.
If you join it with Zero-K lobby it gets the engine too so thats easy way to keep checking engine does not break your stuff.

Thanks much. That is great =D

Oh hey, totally unrelated, but 2 things:

1. Could you remove the evo:test autohost? My users get confused and join the wrong host (constantly). I don't really need a test autohost for that matter, if need be to run those versions vs others I can just host them myself.

2. Could you register http://springfiles.com/spring/tools/spring-features on plasmaserver?

So lets say I wanted to switch to using: 87.0.1-68-g6cefe1d (what zk is currently using)

Would I then just release an update to desura using this engine version and tell springie !setengine 87.0.1-68-g6cefe1d ?

Yes. However newly auto-spawned autohosts will use default config for your AH which is server-wide engine.

So if you want to change config so that all extra autohost spawned automatically or with !spawn use the same engine, let me know i will change the config.
